Im 32 met you like 10 years ago at orries, using fl studio and vital. That init preset is really fun to make stuff from and your knowledge on everything is like out of worldly, you have musicality and feel in you songs. You inspire me to do more and try harder every day.

By far, finally, the best teaching method applied to explain SYNTHESIZING a sound on VITAL!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! There are tons of videos treating viewers as synth masters ninjas. If you don't know the "WHYs", the "HOWs" becomes smoke... The goal of each click, of each move MUST BE SET BEFORE the click and the move, do we can OBSERVE the effect of those changes. So obvious. And so rare. But you got it!!!!! Thank you!!! BTW, what bass sound is this on the final track? Sounds almost like many did before TX81z Lately Bass...
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
the bass is probably Vital or Phase Plant, the saw wave technique
@jenstornell11 ай бұрын
Halo 2 and Phase Plant 2 are nice synths for these kind of sounds. I just bought them. A bit more fat agressive sound.

Technical question: Is there a way to move the main Vital folder containing all the presets, important system files, etc without everything disappearing. Or is there a way to change the file directory? I want to put the folder in my Maschine folder instead of in my music folder which is where Vital was installed for some reason. Thanks

Hey, nice video! I'm normally not into psytrance but the tone of this lead got me interested and I finally got to finish my first sound design tutorial following along to your steps! And you also explain the principles really well! I have a question: I am wondering what I should do if I want to turn this lead into one that can play multiple notes without becoming extremely noisy. Is it possible? I for some reason interpreted the tone of the lead as like a distorted rock guitar.
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
You're not far off with the guitar analogy, the effects are emulating similar to something like a Metal Zone pedal, however due to the complexity of FM waveforms, it becomes difficult to get a good polyphonic sound imho, hence I often use monophonic for these. You may get a better polyphonic sound with a raw oscillator and following the effects chain :)

Fantastic video for a newbie. I've followed your video to the T however my noise from Vital isn't like yours. I'm using Ableton, is it to do with the key I am in?
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
Yea that's the only variable I can think of, theres no other processing etc here :) This is most likely between F-A a few octaves down

how you finding bitwig. I really wan't to get into it but keep relapsing back to ableton whenever i get frustrated. How did you avoid doing this with cubase?
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
Loving it, Cubase frustrated me more LOL
@HalfGodHalfBeast Жыл бұрын
I guess if I keep going back to it, biwig, eventually I will figure out all the differences and how to do in bitwig what was easy in ableton. I love the potential of modulators and the grid. I think my bloated vst folder maybe a hidrance, maybe i should do a few projects using only bitwig devices, what you think?

@@HalfGodHalfBeast change the keyboard shortcuts so they are the same as Live (because Bitwig isn't a dinosaur and you can do that :D ) makes life much, much easier.If you are wondering what the equivalent function for '0' is i.e. mute clips, devices etc. it's called "De-Activate" in Bitwig and the default shortcut is Alt+A

My dream is to have a new genre of psytrance / goa trance that does not use all these ‚funny sounds‘ some genre which is more original and authentic which is based on 303 and analog synthesizers good Melodies and Indian / oriental chants and samples. Nothing makes you trance like a good melody or a dreamy chant… it is a matter of time but it will come …
