hi workshop love the channel, I've been wanting to do a project but a little stuck when it comes to his skin, the person is Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar famous Indian person, his skin tone I'm not sure where to start without going round in circles!! using illustrations paints by createx. i can however mix and make your paint up perfect but is on the darker side, what would you recommend to make it more of lighter. been trying to find out skin tones for it all but to no avail. most i see are for hand brush and oils. i hope i explained it all ok and you can help out with some guide of amounts many thanks great channel and hope to see more guides.

This was perfect man. Doing a portrait with a very similar skin tone. Maybe a little darker but as many times before, I come back to The Art Workshop to get some great tips that will help. Thanks. I love your channel. Best on you tube in my opinion

Very good eye! That's exactly what I did. I'm still working on making a better one, but it seems to work fine for now. I'll have that video out within a month or so. Thank you and best of luck with you painting!

Hey Mark what is a good Clear coat, or clear glaze for portraits. That don’t leave a Shen on the canvas. I hate that Shen look to me it takes away from the portrait!!!🎣🎣🎣

My favorite is liquitex matte varnish to spray over a painting. It is very thick so I thin it about 20% with distilled water and it seals the painting better than anything I've ever used. I also spray it on with an hvlp or lvlp with about 2-3 coats. Here is a link for the one i use. Hope this helps! amzn.to/3FWlFTI I agree. I hate that shiny/glossy look too! This matte varnish works so well to get rid of any gloss.

Nice again a good video. I am curious about the video about color. Transparent flesh coloring is still a challenge for me. Picked up some basic colors from your videos. thanks.

Yaaay I'm glad I found this channel! I'm wanting to make portraits with realistic skin tones (something I've never done) and your videos are easy to follow. I have a hard time understanding the other videos I've watched. Do you have a list of the tools you use or recommend?

So are skin textures just a darker value of the skin tone ? How do you work out what colour the skin textures are in reference to the skin tone ?
@fullyloadedkustoms2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your In depth tutorial on how to paint portraits. You go over a lot of good points in reference to shadows and the light source direction, makes it very easy to follow along. I've been Airbrushing for a little while, just starting to get Into portraits. I do alot of my Airbrushing projects on an aluminum sign board material, just wondering if it's going to be harder to use the eraser method as I haven't tried it yet? thanks for the great tutorial

I'm Also using Kustom shop and house of Kolor urethane paint
@theartworkshop2 жыл бұрын
thanks! You should be just fine on aluminum since it's very smooth to begin with. It's a great surface to paint on, but your highlights will be silver/aluminum. If you apply 2-3 coats of gesso and lightly wet sand it, you'll have a white background to erase into. You can only do this on aluminum panels/sign boards though, never on a car obviously.
@fullyloadedkustoms2 жыл бұрын
@@theartworkshop ok perfect that's great to know thanks for taking the time to reply. , The aluminum sign board panels I have, do already have a white base over the aluminum so the high lights should come out white, I'm looking forward to getting a chance to do some portraits after watching your tutorials. What's the best paints to use for Flesh tones?
@theartworkshop2 жыл бұрын
@@fullyloadedkustoms That is perfect. It should work out the same as the smooth canvas I use. Without a doubt, go with createx illustration colors. They are the easiest to erase. Com-art is a pretty good second. In some of my latest videos, I show how I mix flesh tones so I recommend watching them. Best of luck!
@fullyloadedkustoms2 жыл бұрын
@@theartworkshop perfect Sounds great thanks for that recommendation. I was thinking the urethane paints I use from house of Kolor and Custom Shop might not eraser as easy, although I haven't used that technique before. The waterbased paints from Createx can they be cleared with urethane paints?
@kapenajoe68872 жыл бұрын
I mixed the colours you demonstrated in your video but, exactly as you advised but the colors came out totally different from your flesh tone!!!!
@theartworkshop2 жыл бұрын
I assure you that is the mixture I used. Just mixed it now to double check it, and it's exactly the same. Were your bottles fully mixed?! Are you spraying too heavy? Many things can affect the way you see the color.

Is that an eraser pencil or white pencil. I dont have idea
