rare oily treat ;-) you used the same technique as with pastels! 10Q for sharing and narrating - very helpful.

I developed my pastels from my oil painting technique. Easier to do both then... glad you enjoyed it... thanks for watching. 🙏

Pristine work, its so vibrant and fresh right from the outset. Your brushes look to be in perfect condition too, what make do you recommend and what do you use to clean them? I have tried expensive and cheap ones and they all end up in a state really quickly no matter how I clean them.
@DavePortersArt6 ай бұрын
Thank you. Some of the brushes are years old. I use Daler Rowney, Pro Arte , I have a few simonart series 38 ones too. How I clean them is I take the excess paint off with White Spirits and the clean them with soap and rinse them 3 times... at the end I roll them into a point for rounds and make sure they are flat for flats. Seem to do the trick. all the very best 🙏
@angeladuff5646 ай бұрын
@@DavePortersArt thanks for your reply. I’ll give those brushes a go. I’m cleaning in pretty much the same way but i suspect I may be being a little too rough in trying to rush the cleaning process. Hope to see some more oil painting videos on your channel. Thanks again

Thank you very much it’s very beautiful I have a question I don’t see you using a medium to thinner the paint for the underlayer Do you dip you’re brush in any before taking some paint up ? Greetings
@DavePortersArt29 күн бұрын
You are very welcome... thrilled you like how it turned out. I use Michael Harding Paints which is like the consistency of butter which make the paint flow easy. If your paint is dryer, then I would suggest adding a little medium. I am now experimenting with adding a little more liquin as I like how it makes the paint glow more. All the very best. 😊🙏
