I’ve had this bass for nearly 3 years now, and I still think it’s brilliant. One downside that I found on the road is that the saddles on the bridge aren’t the strongest. They started to get a little week after having changed the strings and set the intonation 2-3 times. It’s nothing too distracting tho. It’s a high recommendation!!

YES! I've been fiddling with guitar for nearly two decades BUT just bought my first bass a month ago, and it's an Ibanez SR300F-very similar, but fretless, and with an ebonol fingerboard-and I paired it with a new Fender Rumble. I call it a guitar players' bass. Such an easy feel (especially with the flatwound strings). Loving the "All About The Bass" episodes!

Due to its fame and craftmanship, most everyone wants a fender or fender-copy, because of the nostalgia and tone. However, I can say, having played a few fenders and a lot of more modern basses, that brands and Ibanez provide more features at lower prices. For $450, you can get an Ibanez SR 375E (A maple-body 5 string with all the features of the 300 series). Also, the Power Tap is just the Tap (Parallel-Single Coil) with a bass boost so it stays at the same volume level as the Series (humbucking) mode. All in all, Ibanez proves itself everyday as a great guitar company, just like Yamaha, Schecter, ESP, and many others.

Lol seen so many of these but not this 1st episode. Nathan says at the start something about they have been making this for 25 years. I brought an Ibanez SR500 new back in 1994 and yes they still make that one, tho it's different in some ways, pick ups, wood type etc. I still have mine and it's neck is so nice like all of the SR range. Needs new pre amp to. It cost me 1k back then and I looked at Fender, MM etc around same price, new and 2nd hand and kept coming back to the Ibanez. I've owned other basses since and still have another two, but never could part with my SR 500. Ibanez make awesome basses at ridiculous prices. Some brand snobs have to have a Fender etc and look down at Ibanez without ever playing one. Their loss. Cheers

Just picked up the slightly nicer, maple bodied 370e. Absolutely love it. Not to get confrontational, but the Thunderbird was just a nose-diving brick by comparison. The Ibanez is light, is incredibly flexible, and has a good, but subtle look. Plus it fits in a normal gig bag. It's just a really smart bass. I'll also note that it can sound way more dark and Geezer Butler-y if you tweak it a bit, I'm kinda shocked by how tinny it sounds it this demo (though it still sounds okay).

Usually, the third position is like a 100% from half a pickup and 50% of the other half of the same pickup in a way to achieve the dynamic of a single coil but to keep it clean noisewise and maybe with an extra bass in the spectrum.

The number one thing that I love about Ibanez basses is that they have plenty of basses that go up to 24 frets. It's all about options, and I love how Ibanez gives you that. I don't know why companies like Fender and Gibson don't do that, there isn't any downside to a 24 fret neck that I can see.
