Hey there, Stu! Good insights, here! I'm surprised though you don't compress the low end on the DI. If the point is making the low end consistent, why don't you throw a compressor on the DI track? I'd agree with you say that the 120-150Hz range is likely to be problematic, but wouldn't that be likely to be a note-dependant issue? In which case, I would probably lower the entire range instead of filtering one specific frecuency and dynamic EQing it... I'd gladly have your take on it! Anyhow, great video! Peace!

As every song is different, I approach every mix differently, but I am more likely to put a compressor on the overall bass bus. That may well be enough ( if needed at all ) but if the low end is a bit wild then certainly a compressor may well be used to keep it consistent. But as a general rule I do tend to find that 1 frequency jumps out more than note dependant on a fair amount of bass tracks I work on. Thanks for watching, means a lot.
