Very happy that they introduced this new version w/Dolby Vision, a black case and an onboard SSD. I’ll be buying later this year after moving from a Samsung QLED to a Sony OLED. One benefit I haven’t otherwise seen mentioned is that, for those of us who own one of the Compact Terra servers that has only one mechanical hard drive, we all know that that spinning mechanical hard drive is eventually going to fail, and have to be sent in for repair. That could easily mean two weeks of being without kaleidescape. But if we have the new Strato V instead of the C, we will still have the ability to play movies from the onboard SSD while waiting for the replacement. And for everyone with a system that can play back HDR10+, I wouldn’t doubt that kaleidescape can more easily add that capability in the future, since it is probably just a matter of software or coding. To my understanding, it does not require any additional hardware, the way Dolby Vision does. I would guess that the only reason for the delay is that Dolby insisted that they not implement it at this time if they wanted to bring Dolby Vision on board; it’s their long feud w/Samsung. Will you be able to offer price matching of deals from other vendors? You deserve our support, but we will otherwise be able to get about $600 off by purchasing it from Best Buy and combining freeShipping.com’s 10% back and US Bank Visa’s 5% back. Had to catch the reply cause of work. I think the V looks great lil light on storage. Would’ve liked it at least 2tb but I have a C. I use a projector to DV doesn’t sway me but it should def help people get into the platform 👍🏻👍🏻

If you purchase a movie, can you down load it again later as the library grows?

Yes, once you own a movie in your account you are free to delete from local storage and download again as much as you like.

Most of the commentary, I see, is it's picture and sound quality is indistinguishable from a high end 4k blu ray player, which is thousands of dollars cheaper. Do a video debunking that notion.

I have a video comparing disc rips to K downloads in terms of encoding size. K wins pretty handily on average and sometimes by wide margins on certain films which are BD66 limited, but much much larger on K. Still, quality isn't the only comparison or measuring. The platform, in my opinion, really excels on convenience, elegance, access to more 4K content, access to early releases, reliability, integration and control, and so on.
