I really love your content. You guys are an incredible resource and great to learn from. Just to make sure I have the sop correct for when I am using a pressure washer I took notes for easy reference. See below and correct if I’m wrong. SOP DIY Wheel Cleaning - worst case scenario Foam - All Clean 15:1 Rinse Foam - All Clean 15:1 Brush Iron remover Brush Rinse Water spot remover - agitate with microfiber towel Rinse Quick beads Dry Add tire dressing My question is in regards to when I am using rinse less wash. How does my sop change? Is it: Rinse less Brush Wipe tire Ceramic Gloss Wipe wheel Blow dry Add tire dressing Or do I need to rinse off the rinse less with water, then reapply, then brush, etc?

Really enjoying the content guys! I have a somewhat unique issue with the wheels on my jeep and would like to get your take on it... It sat for about 2-3 months, unaware one of our sprinklers was constantly hitting one side of the jeep every morning. After taking care of the water spots on the paint, two of the wheels (one side) were in very bad shape as we have insanely hard water here. After the water puddled at the bottom of the inside rim and was literally dried every day by the sun, I wasn't finding much that could tackle removing the hard water stains and calcium build up.... Anyways... I ended up using CLR with a microfiber pad and after about 3-4 applications of LIGHTLY rubbing it into the area and rinsing, it finally broke up and was removed (not letting it dwell more than about 30 seconds at a time). I didn't let the CLR sit very long at all but it did take care of it eventually... My question, is there a better product to use? I don't notice any visual damage but how bad could the CLR damage the wheel overtime? Sorry for the long post and thanks again!

CLR is fine for extreme situations.

Quick beads is your best friend on wheels and fender wells. I remember when I had centerline wheels I would spend hours hand polishing with Wenol jewelry polish. They did look amazing but they were labor intensive. Now if shops here in Nashville would stop putting on the lug nuts as tight as possible that would be great. Thank you for the video.

It may not snow where you live, but if you have summer-only rated tires and it gets cold, you still may want a 2nd set of wheels/tires. Many tire manufacturers do not recommend summer tires be driven in temperatures under 45-50 degrees! For safety reasons, you should get all-season tires for colder temperatures!

Your information regarding tire browning makes perfect sense. Any thoughts why Pan and every other detailing channel work so hard to remove all the browning before applying tire dressing?
@diydetailofficial3 ай бұрын
Because it’s what people assume is true. They are more concerned about the looks right now, than the durability. Same as polishing to remove orange peel and all scratches, the car looks better but they did irreparable damage.

What are your thoughts on laying a thick layer of ceramic on the inner barrels? Just meaning laying it on extra thick and not leveling it off because nobody really can see the inner barrel and that extra protection would seem to add a bit more thicker protection. Or even laying two thick coatings that way . Obviously you got to stop somewhere hahah but just curious on your take of the thicker layer. Keep up the great work you 2! Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner. Yes, I remember those commercials. When I bought my first set of winter tires and wheels I did ceramic coat them. I am not sure if they had a wheel coating by then. I think I coated the wheels with Armor Shield since I had a bottle leftover from coating my car. Once I saw that a wheel coating was avaialable I tried that and I think it was Artdeshine Wheel Coating. I think that lasted much better than the Armor Shield. It is hard to compare though as some winters can be worse than others. I enjoyed the video Yvan and Nick. Nice job and great information. I have a question about what to do when you go to the tire shop to get your new tires put on. So, you get new tires mounted onto your coated wheel and they put the tire weights on and you coated the barrel. Will the weights stick? I have coated the barrels and I find that they have to get new weights put on. Not often, but sometimes. Maybe twice now?

Hello Yvan. If someone had bad tires and just wanted to sand them down and spray themselves, about what grit would you want to sand them with. The condition of the tires is bad, but not awful if that makes any sense.

You probably mean rims right? The tire is the rubber that touches the road. The rim is the metal inside the rubber. The whole thing is called the wheel.

Wow, didn't know about the browning of the wheel could be antioxidants besides brake dust. How do I distinguish between brake dust and antioxidants? As Nick suggested, 1 scrub with a hard brush and that's it? (until wheels need another wash of course) Why is wheel acid cleaner (diluted) dangerous? Can you elaborate? I tend to use diluted wheel acid cleaner when none of my other products will do the job. Thank you guys for an upgrade to my knowledge!
@diydetailofficial3 ай бұрын
The browning doesn’t need to be completely removed. Acid is hard on you, the car, and the environment
@jcruhrskov1943 ай бұрын
@@diydetailofficial Thanks for answering so fast 🙂 Yes, acid non-diluted is harsh to the environment, especially if used every 14th. day or so, but if it's diluted when used (twice every year), it will be diluted even more, when rain comes a long, so as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't harm the environment. Since it will break down by soil, bacterias, water and what not - before it can do any harm. At least that's what my local region told me in my area of Denmark.

You indicate that the wheels should be prepared with your Panel Prep prior to C6 Hydro Lite. However, if you are going to apply C6 Hydro Lite, should you use Adhesion Promoter Polish rather than Panel Prep. If you recommend the APP, how would you apply APP because that is normally applied using your red Rotary Jeweling Pad, which seems pretty hard to use on a wheel.....although your website indicates that APP can also be applied by hand. Thanks!
@diydetailofficial3 ай бұрын
On wheels it’s up to you. DIY Detail Panel Prep works, C6 Ceramics Adhesion Promoter Polish (APP) gives you more gloss and depth( hard to see on a wheel). You would apply it by hand with a MF towel
@TomScelfo3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the quick reply! Also, you have said that APP helps to swell the paint a bit, and I guess that’s not applicable on wheels.

Cleaned my car last weekend and didn’t have time to add the tire dressing until after dark. Sprayed 3 of the 4 tires with water spot remover instead of tire dressing before I noticed! Oups! I should have noticed considering I really love the water spot remover smell! Anyway, I rinsed it off well, dried and then put « real » tire dressing on them. I have to say though that in the dark, the tires looked really nice with the water spot remover on them! Lol.
