Having recently bought a suite of your products, I have to say that using the decontamination towel with Rinse Less wash and Iron Remover has been a revelation in the cleaning of my cars. They are 17 and 23 years old respectively and both now washed, decontaminated, polished, panel prep'd and ceramic coated (5yr, the "gloss-master"). The cars have never looked better. Though I'm probably close to Yvan's age and been a car enthusiast for nearly 50 years, it feels like I've gone right back to school on cleaning and detailing. @@Ayden773 Hi, after cleaning my car as normal and rinsing off. I then use the Decon towel and Iron remover, rinsing the towel in my bucket. Then I use quick beads every couple of months to finish off. It's incredibly easy and fast.

Just so everyone knows why I love water spot remover, it's not necessarily because of the spots from water, but more because the minerals from rain and roads causes my ceramic coating to get clogged in a way that it doesn't work as well as it can. And that's what the water spot remover does. It removes what we can't see also. The pores of the ceramic coating gets clogged and then it doesn't repell and bead nearly as much. Hope this helps someone

I know a lot of detailers some times hate these secrets getting out. But I assure you their are no worries. The products and machinery is to expensive for individual to by as a diy project. How ever after a diy on their car they don't EVER wanna detail their car again And they appreciate your service. When I have a new client. After inspection I give them an explanation of details of what needs to be done. With products that will be used along with the cost and the uses I get from each bottle. A bit much??? Nope this seals the deal. Cause now they don't assume that my self or a shop is ripping them off and they can read and see the time being put in. Mobile detailers really promote detail shops indirectly. Because the customer looks out their window and actually sees the detailer still work for hours to get their car rite.

I have a question about using iron remover and Quick Beads or gloss on a customer's paint. I don’t recall if you covered this. If I perform a WRW (wash, rinse, wash), then use an iron remover on the paint, should I use a regular towel to apply the iron remover, or is there a better method? After that, should I reapply suds and then use Quick Beads and my clay towel? Could you clarify the most effective and efficient process for cleaning the car while also applying gloss or achieving optimal beading?

Yvan and Nick, I used the DIY clay towel for the first time last month and I couldn't believe how well it worked. I could feel, and sometimes hear, the contimination when using the towel with the DIY Iron Remover. Q1: You mentioned not using Tree Sap Remover with the clay towel. Are you saying whenever the surface has tar/sap/adhesive, to not use clay towel at all? Or the clay towel can be used with a better lubricant (e.g. Rinseless)? Q2: Is the DIY Tree Sap Remover safe on ceramic coated vehicles? Is it caustic? Q3: Since DIY Water Spot Remover has a high pH, is there no way to treat ceramic coated vehicles? Thanks in advance!

1, DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover will melt the towel. 2-3 coatings are much more chemically resistant than paint. The only way to damage them is abrasion. 2 DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover is a solvent, it doesn’t factor on the ph scale 3 it’s acidic, not caustic.

The mysterious clay towel? This one video covers everything we'd need to know. I've noticed that clay towels (or bars) are really good at removing bug 'stains'.. the spots left when bugs are removed and have only been on the car for a short time (aka non etched spots). My helper used the towel with bug remover instead of soapy lubricant. The bug remover left the quarter of the towel pretty sticky, so like you mentioned sap remover, bug and tar remover is not compatible. Anyway thanks for the info. I wish your towel was available on Amazon.

@@TheBreakfastLover I might be wrong, but one of the advantages of a towel in comparison to a sponge or mitt is the 4 sides in comparison to 1 on the sponge and 2 on the mitt. It also appears to eliminate product waste as the sponge would absorb a lot of iron remover for example. As I mentioned, I might be wrong in my thinking/reasoning.

23:45 one thing Yvan didnt mention and needs awareness of is when you first start to roll the towel make sure the red edge of the towel folds over the "clay" portion so that it doesnt end up sticking at that first portion as you roll over. Fold the entire red edge over the "clay" then roll. It would suck if a small portion stuck if you over folded that part at the beginning. It also helps rolling it up small enough to fit back into the plastic container.

if your car is 2+ years old and you live in a climate that uses road salt in the winter, it's the road salt that causes orange spots to build up each year. You don't even need to iron-remove your whole car, just the side panels (mostly the lower half) and the rear panel. Whereas my dad has a 12 year old porsche that's never seen a winter and the paint still looks fantastic.

Ivan often teaches us that the legacy sponge is a great wash medium because of reduced pressure points on paint and that makes perfect sense to me. By using that logic, wouldn’t a clay sponge be better than a clay towel because of reduced pressure points?

Ok, so maybe I'm a little confused..getting a 2025 Traverse. Step one... wash the wet car with a wash mit, using the rinse less product. Step two ensure the vehicle is still wet from the rinse less product, and use the iron remover and the clay towel, one spray on the clay towel, one spray on the vehicle and decontaminate the entire car. Wash the car again with the rinse less product so the entire car is clean and wet with the rinse less product. Then using the clay towel and on spray on the clay towel and on spray on the car, of the Ceramic product, coat a wet area leave it for maybe 30 seconds and then dry it with a dry micro fiber towel... don't let the Ceramic product dry... I hope that's it for a newly delivered car, if I still don't understand.. please help . THKS Ted

Let’s simplify it. Pre-spray with rinseless and dwell Rinse Add DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash to the surface again Do contact wash Apply DIY Detail Iron Remover with Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel Rinse Dry using DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss as your drying aid.

Not wrong or right. There are many good ways to detail. What we found works best with the DIY Detail line of products is the following. -Perform contact wash -use DIY Detail Iron Remover with Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel -rinse -apply DIY Detail Water Spot Remover -agitate with damp towel -rinse -dry From there either apply protection, or start polishing.

First, I love the clay towel. Currently I'm working with one of the most sensitive paints-Mazda Soul Red Crystal-and I'm finding that the clay towel is leaving fine scratches. I have *plenty* of lube. Any tips? I fold the towel in 1/4ths.

First timer using decon towel and iron remover on WHITE CAR. SO FREAKIN HAPPY! Any thoughts on small yellow stains on the plastic bumper from what I believe are flecks of bird poo. DIY Rinseless removed the spots from the paint but stain remains on bumper after decon + iron remover.
