i just went on a 12 mile hike through the mountains here in colorado. it is a fantastic place to see natural bonsai looking trees. there are little areas of pines and oaks that are covered with them. a word of warning, be young or be prepared to recover after hiking to see them.

still wanna know who did you got too the point to buy your own nursery etc? back in the days?
@peterchan3100
@peterchan3100 4 жыл бұрын
No one gave me any money - Nursery was bought relatively cheap although I had to take a big loan; and interest rate was 15% back in 1986. I did 2 jobs for 3 years before I could give up my London job. My wife and I worked hard on our own and we could not afford to employ anyone until we had been here for 4 years. So nothing happens without hard work. Looking back, I would not have accepted money from anyone even if they offered it to me. I am the sort of person who doesn't like accepting money from anyone. Everything we have achieved is from sheer hard work. Even now - when customers visit the nursery and see me sweeping the floor - they say to me "You must be mad sweeping your own floor", but that is ME and my work ethic !! So please dont ask me again who gave me the money to buy a nursery. Its is sheer guts, hard work and a bit of luck.The "guy up there" has looked after me and my family.

@@bgertsma in England it depends which way you present your fingers.. if you hold the palm of your hand/fingers towards the recipient then you are signalling victory and peace, but the other way round with the back of the fingers towards the recipient it is indeed a rude sign. Ten years ago, when I moved into my rented converted dairy, I planted a zelkova as there was only a rose and some weedy osteospermum here. My stunning zelkova is now at least thirty feet high, I love it but sadly, I know when I leave here, it will probably be cut down. Fire is a constant fear here in Australia and others don't realise the benefits of deciduous exotics over natives in fire prone areas. A good reminder that everything is temporary and to enjoy the moment.

As often as it’s needed depending on the size of the pot, the time of it year and the weather. Usually it’s once a day during the growing season, but the basic rule it’s not to let the soil dry out. Even overwatering can easily become a problem if there’s bad drainage.
