After competing this year for the first time in 10 years at Worlds as a black belt, I realize how incredibly hard this is. Hardly anyone got tapped in my division and most every match was decided by a point or two. To win that many matches by submission in this tournament is bananas, let alone the streak he is on. Hopefully he gets promoted soon (I wouldn't be saying this if he was going to be in my weight division hahaha)

@@kellzndacut Basically, coaches/instructors are keeping experienced and highly skilled belts intentionally low so they can win tournaments more and have easier matchups. In this case, Luke is KNOWN to be an absolute powerhouse in BJJ and it makes very little sense he is STILL brown belt. Similarly, Big Dan being purple belt is equally preposterous.

@@88unstopable Fair enough, but he didnt look that undersized. Usually with that much forward pressure a good response for the defending player would be some sort of kip. Easier said than done when Luke is smashing your face

For me, Luke already has everything that a masterclass in the sport needs to have, interesting fights that could be in the next WNO: Luke x Josh Saunders, Luke x Henrique Ceconi, Luke x Owen Livesey, and in the next ADCC depending on the category There could be big fights with big, renowned names with tournament champions like Felipe Pena, Kaynan Duarte, Roberto Cyborg, Nick Rod, Craig Jones, Vitor Hugo.
