I hope Lilly recovers well. Since she's a senior dog, diarrhea always concerns me. I know all the animals as well as Steve are saying, "it's sure good to have you home" 😁. Things always seem to happen when you go away. Sorry to hear about Limpy. I think Libby will mesh in well with the other chickens. Well, it won't be too long before you'll be out in the garden. We've been having some fluctuating weather here. I hope it soon settles down a bit. It's supposed to be freezing tonight and tomorrow morning then warm up. Enjoyed a full-watch. It’s so surprising that you have freezes there. Yes, it was a big concern with Lily. The medicine helped right away fortunately, and she’s doing ok. Unfortunately, we have been seeing a pretty rapid decline with Lily the last month or so. Thanks so much for watching, Don!

@@ChickenHues Yep, the weather here in NC is so dang surprising. I think I'm gonna send it your way. Supposed to be freezing again tonight. Now this is getting old. I'm not having fun, hahaha. 😁 Glad to hear that Lilly recouped from the diarrhea. Sad to see your 4 legged friend slowly declining. I've had a bad 2 years. I lost 3 dogs in that time period and boy-oh-boy that hurt. Even though they're outdoor hunting dogs, they're all close to me and I broke down when I had to take one in to be put down. Just love them while you have them still with ya. 3/21/23

I'm so sorry about Limpy. I loved those two. So beautiful. Of course chickens make friends. They are as social as we are if not more. They form bonds, friendships and enemies. Though she lived a full life span it always is hard to let them go. And it's clear Libby is crying for her. I have no doubt that's why she's so loud now. She is calling her friend. I had something similar happen with a cross bill and my silkie. They were bonded but the cross bill died after six months. Wasn't getting enough food. I need to get a new friend for my silkie. Who was an accidental chicken too. I'm with you that I never would have sought to buy a silkie but now I have one. OH and congrats on the chicks. I got the same incubator for the first time and I have hatching eggs hopefully coming tomorrow. I'm so excited. My broody hen is doing well with hers too if you saw that video. We're on day 16 I think. I'm so excited about all this.

@@ChickenHues Thanks. Yes, I'm proud of her for her first time. Hope she will know what to do when the chicks hatch. Thank you. Minion is a little miracle. He's currently the best talking budgie on youtube. Not only biggest vocabulary but also clearest pronunciation. I don't know of any others that focus on getting the words right before moving on to a new phrase.

Both! Now I usually just buy from hatcheries because I’m not working with a particular breed anymore.

Wow - I’ve been hearing that from people. We are fortunate here that there seem to be enough to go around between farm stores and private sellers. I was just in our local Rural King and they were fully stocked with turkeys, Cornish cross, ducks, and tons of baby chicks of all kinds.
