I recently had to replace the gauge, "nipple" (steam pipe), and overpressure plug. The people at the foundry and super nice and helpful.

I have the All American 921 , a birthday gift from my son in 2012 . I love this canner and it will last and last , built like a tank ! I can everything from butter , meat, fruit, soups, etc. I do pressure can my butter and I know some don't but it is a protein and so is meat so I pressure can it like I would meat . I have some butter close to 6 yrs old and still fresh . I fry bacon lightly brown and place on parchment paper , roll it up , stuff in a jar and can it . I used to can it raw but I find lightly browning it makes it old together better and so good you could eat it right out of the jar if you didn't have a way to heat it up . I love the fact that my All A. canner doesn't ever need a gasket . So much for my canning stories . Thanks for a wonderful video . I am looking at a 921 that I believe is older because it has what I think is called a Petcock valve . I hear you can replace it with the modern post type and get the weight to go on it like my new 921 has , have you heard of this ? If so do you think it would be difficult for me to change it out myself ? Retired and a Grandma here . Blessing's to you and your daughter , Linda

isn't butter mainly fat?

Do you submerge the bacon in water after browning and rolling in parchment paper? I have questions

Not to mention, you apparently do not have to haul this thing to the ag extension office to have it tested because the gauge is not a pressure gauge. I learned this after I hauled my 921 to the extension office.

Mine is the model 915. I also have a Mirror brand and my grandma's old #7 National probably made in the 40's. Parts are available for a lot of older canners but i got tired of replacing rubber seals. It never fails when you can't get it to seal and it's on a weekend and nobody is open and there you are stuck waiting. That was my biggest reason for getting the All American, no more rubber seals.
