Finally a review on an actually used canner instead of brand new one out of the box. I have had my 941 & 925 (925s Are not as common but have a better internal height than the 920) for over ten years and love them. Yes HEAVY , the weight is easy to tell empty on the larger canners , 941 is about 41# ,925 about 25# and NO you do not want to put them on a glass top. It's mainly a heat distribution issue but a fully loaded 914 can push 80# plus canning outside/ open garage really helps keep the heat out of your kitchen.

I am in the market for my 1st ever canner. Your review was excellent. And you touched on things that I have not heard anyone else mention, which is fasen the lockdown knobs two at a time opposite each other and the release at 18 lbs. As a newbie, I appreciate this review. I have the All American 941 in my cart online and will be purchasing it.

Yes, this is a good review. I have one and have run a couple thousand jars through it. As mentioned, keeping an even width around the top and bottom is crucial. The instruction book included is EXCELLENT, as is this review.

Hi Bob. Every video shows this thing on an outdoor burner. Is it too big for stovetop use? Really looking for something that will function inside. My stove is gas. Thanks.
@HippieHillHomestead Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use it on a stove top. I just find it is easier to use it on an outside burner. These are great canners.

All American says on their website that it is too heavy for any glass top stove. They do have smaller models that are rated for a glass top stove.

How long does that 20 lb propane tank last? I bought the 941 last year to use on my deck and I’m paranoid about running out of propane during processing!
@HippieHillHomestead Жыл бұрын
It depends on the ambient temperature, I can get 4 runs at 90 minutes in the summer, but only 3 and a partial if it is cold out. If you do run out it isn't hard to switch tanks and get it going again before the the temperature drops much. There is so much mass between the pressure canner, water and the jars it cools down slowly.Great question.

@@HippieHillHomestead will a regular propane outdoor stove be good enough to heat this up as you said you have a turkey fryer

I always have a second propane bottle when I can. They can be changed out quickly before the pressure drops.
