Rowan (nodding): "It's a close one, we need to get some goals on the scoreboard. We've been pinned down...." Interviewer :"....You're buried alive" Rowan: "It's ok, there are pebbles down here that are being really supportive" etc.

Tom and all those nat 20 death saving throws, is the same situation as what happened the first time I had my nieces play a D&D game with me. They were investigating a farm found the owners dead, went to investigate the bodies and the bodies came back to safe as zombies. They got trapped in by the zombies and one of them kept getting knocked out, but kept rolling a nat 20 every death save😧 it was crazy!🤯

MAGIC ITEM IDEA: Since the power level is 3rd level magic or lower - a pendant, necklace or other jewelry that casts revivify on the wearer if they die (potentially one time use, maybe really long recharge) If you do this idea PLEASE put the thing on xantheus or ophelia (chaos twins = dying a lot)

I only got the idea because in BG3 there's a similarly themed enemy that drops a similarly themed item used to make an elixir of barkskin. Which I used on my bard, they also had +0 dex, what a coincidence.

I've actually grown to really dislike the fate system.

I think it can be too punishing. Specially considering that some enemys have abilities that grab the fate for themselves. The enemy gains x ammount of dice and are capable to use even more devastating habilities wile the players loose the oportunity to use the dice to have better rolls.

Just remember, all of these abilities that Mark has he could just do as a DM for free. The fate system they have actually gives the players MORE opportunities to be cool like the DM is.

Yeah I'm not a fan. The players feel obliged to use it every roll or lose it, which feels like it loses it's meaning as an add on mechanic when every roll includes fate.

@TheFacelessEvil yeah. It doesn't feel like fate. It feels like a gimmick. I'd much prefer it be a once per session thing that players could use after a die is rolled but before results are revealed. And mark use those abilities anyway. At least this way it feels like them twisting fate.

This is the most "Alice in Chains" episode of high rollers I've seen. Bear with me, light spoilers ahead... . . . We have most of the party *down in a hole*, They are covered in *dirt*, fight more than one *rotten apple*, finally get *them bones*, get the best resource to carve an *angry chair,* then get to sleep so their teeth don't *grind*. The next morning, Ophelia asks, "What the hell have I* done, tries to explain that *it ain't like that*, but ultimately has *no excuses*. That said, I hope she gets to try *again*.
