Great Video 👍 Love The Springboks 🇿🇦 Respect to the All Blacks 🇳🇿
@markwesley9346 Жыл бұрын
Enjoyed the comments which reflect the rivalry. As a ten year old I remember watching the Springboks play their first game in 1965 against our small province (Poverty Bay). We scored first with a penalty and were euphoric. Fulltime and it was a million points to 3. South Africa were undoubtedly the 'world champions' prior to the actual World Cup era. They regularly beat NZ in NZ, beat us four nil in the 1949 test series and it wasn't until1956 that we finally won a test series against them and 1996 when SA were beaten in a series in SA. Intimidation has always been a huge part of the Springbok game. In 1970, the legendary lock Frik du Preez punched our halfback Chris Laidlaw semi conscious and in 1976 van Heerden (?) used Pole Whiting's head as a trampoline requiring multiple stitches. In 1970, Fergie Mc Cormick stiff-armed winger Syd Nomis who lost a couple of teeth. (The SA ref was a dentist!) I could go on but for me, these memories background the beautiful rivalry today.

@Manuel Dumont This video is literaly about NZ vs SA and SA has only beaten NZ in a world cup knock out match once. And that victory was under questionable circumstances. The All Blacks have knocked the Springboks out of a World Cup twice and beaten them 3 times. Outside of World Cups the Springboks have been dominated since the introduction of neutral referees
@biggest233 жыл бұрын
@Manuel Dumont …..Mr Cumberdale’s response seems to have flown at too high an altitude for your logic processes to spot it. Essentially, he accurately states that if SA meets the AB’s in A RWC, they either lose or get knocked out, or in other words, SA needs to avoid getting their bum smacked by the AB’s to find success in a RWC. SA’s RWC record is quite literally dependent on avoiding the AB’s.

@Me-ex7qg3 жыл бұрын
@@stevesteve6189 Citing a wrong decision doesn't amount to evidence of bias, all that proves was that the call or miss call was incorrect. You're assuming a motive for incorrect calls and assumptions can not be used as evidence. You're also assuming that more incorrect calls go against the Springboks than the All Blacks. There is no conclusive evidence of this either. If all the calls that wrongly go against the Springboks are due to bias then how do you explain the calls that go against the All Blacks? Predictably your response will be that calls don't go against the All Blacks like they do the Springboks. Once again there is no evidence of this claim, when you look at the penalty counts over the last 20 games you will see the Springboks were on the right side of the penalty count more often than not. The irony is that the only consistently lop-sided penalty counts between the two teams were in favor of South Africa when they played at home against the All Blacks in the amateur era.

Lomu was a huge fella. He physically dominated everyone who came in his way to the try line. But the Afrikaners seem to have an unlimited supply of strong tall brutes. Hence, he never scored against the Boks.

He was , but was neutralized by Joost, Joubert and Small. .. I just thought for SA, NZ games he never really features. .. My all these greats that have past rest in peace ....

The All Blacks and Springboks have played each other 104 times, with the All Blacks leading the series 62 to 38, with 4 matches drawn....... hardly a rivalry

You did your best to try and hide the fact that you want the all blacks to star and have the springboks as the villains. As a Welshman, I respect both sides, but what you just did is revolting. Go crawl under a rock. I also remember the iconic win for the springboks in NZ during 2019 where they won the Championship series one year after that horrific defeat, besting the all blacks at home and also getting a draw. But I see you failed to mention that in your bias video.

Springboks are sensational

Now whoever wants to say we always blaming referee’s may say so but over the years most referee’s has been somewhat more harsh on the Springboks. I wish someone would make a video of poor refereeing and always giving the Springboks the brunt of their decision making

This list is a bit biased & shows mostly one-way traffic in play and discipline. A lot of these moments also feel a bit arbitrary.

Video obviously made by a New Zealander! Not “best moments in rivalry” …. How about best “new desk and moments in rivalry”
