Anybody get goosebumps at that try ? Love it

David Duckham was the Rolls-Royce of english rugby at the time -although his breathtaking acceleration at 3.31 was faster than a Ferrari. Such a shame he only ever played in mediocre english that never allowed him to blossom fully on the international stage.

One of the all time greats of rugby a World Class winger , I just wished he was Welsh, I think we adopted him.

Yes. 2.15, 3.25, 7.50. Three times. Sublime running. He didn't score, but I thought he was man of the match. Haven't really seen a pure running performance like it since, apart maybe from Lomu (whose size was a factor). Maybe Andy Irvine or Serge Blanco. Or Liam Williams starting the first try in the Lions first test against the All Blacks in 2017.

I grew up in Wales watching local and provincial rugby. Actually played for my school and the local team. I was living in New Zealand when the game turned pro. That's when I saw Rugby players turn into real athletes. The game became so fast and so much more competitive. I can't speak for other major rugby nations , but if you want to see a high standard of rugby, go any where in New Zealand. Even from school boy level and up. I've never seen any thing like it. It is exciting stuff.

This try is considered by many to be the greatest try ever scored and they certainly were not athletes back then compared to players in the modern game. What I'm getting at is you need more than just physical fitness (if you are after that just go watch Rugby League) to produce magic like this try. I'm talking about guile, and a pure god given gift that cant be taught or learnt.

Apart from the feeble Haka, quite simply THE greatest Rugby Union matche EVER. JPR Williams must have the strongest neck ever

espectacular. . no hay palabras para describir este añorado rugby. La forma de amacarse con natural plasticidad de los tres cuartos al pasar la pelota , ya no se vé mas

Note the head high tackle by number 14 for New Zealand. A great first try saved by Quinell and finished off by Edwards hitting the line at pace.

David duckham was without the key player in attack that day, his runs were mesmerising to say the least, most of them ended with a try being scored that day

What a back line that was, they tore the Blacks apart, match sewn up by half-time. The Baa Baas pack had at least 3 players not even good enough for their countries. Just as well for the Blacks that Gerald Davies and Mervyn Davies weren't playing as well.
