Am I the only one who thinks Adult Kastor's voice sounds just a bit too high? He almost sounds like he's still going through puberty despite being in his late 20s lol

Completely normal: Apparently, Arkantos and Kastor are both voiced by the same voice actor, who also voiced them in the original Age of Mythology, Daniel Riordan. Microsoft bringing back the original actor is a HUGE achievement!

No... Only for Arkantos... Kastor's voice actor is nowhere as good as the old... Old was so much better 😞

Kastor's new voice is not a big deal, but the lack of determination in his voice, the old one has some kind of fearlessness, ruthlessness in it. I heard some missions are reworked, so old voices won't work 100%, thus new ones are needed. I don't know why authentic accents are a serious thing these days. I don't want to bring in other games, but the recent Black Myth Wukong, they don't even try to make English-speaking actors mimic Chinese accent. Doing respective accents just highly ruins characters and nothing more.

@@adaml929 It will take a while... I've uploaded a video where I did the same with the Cutscenes... adding the old voices... It was not easy The timing doesn't properly match of the Cutscenes and old audio sequence... I had to tweak the duration of the clip somewhere fast ... Somewhere slow and so on... It looks much better that way... Make sure to check on that video as well ☺️❣️

I don't remember how it used to be in the classic AoM, but I think the characters are simply way too big compared to the buildings, which makes the cutscenes look very weird in my opinion. The soldiers are literally the exact same height as their house... Even the walls really don't feel that impressive. Also, I feel like the voices were much better in the classic one (might be because of nostalgia though, I should check again). To be honest, I think I could have been hyped for an AoM 2, but I don't think the original needed a remaster that much, and what was forgivable 22 years ago is a lot less for 2024 standards. So overhaul, if I was given this game 22 years ago, I am not even sure I would have enjoyed it more than the original, and this is certainly not what I expected to see for Age of Empires franchise (which was extremely impressive and ahead of its time at its peak) to become more than 2 decades later. I would have expected that a 2024 AoE would have very impressive and convincing animations, a lot more units on the battlefield, very innovative gameplay, a very smart AI, much better cinematics, etc. I don't think fancier graphics are enough, especially if some other aspects feel like a let down. I'm glad Microsoft gave it a try, but unfortunately it really feels like AoE died with Ensemble Studios and that it will never actually be back. Fortunately there are a few other good RTS being developped by other companies.

I don't disagree one bit with all that you've said! It's a big let down to be honest... but again... since I have already purchased the game... no point in complaining... better get back to editing videos 😂😂😅
