Yeah... the more I come to realize that against Greeks, you need to counter with a lot of ranged infantry. Those heroes soak up ranged myth units unless you are deliberately controlling them, and they prevent your melee myth units from doing anything worth mentioning before going straight into bin. I am having most success on rounds where I get up enough ranged infantry to whittle down Greek heroes before they approach me... or try to turtle as hard as I can until more advanced units come online after Heroic Age.

You're probably better off ignoring the heroes when starting the fight. They are much more tankier than they do damage, by the time you can pick off an age 1 greek hero you probably could have picked off 4-5 hoplites instead

Honestly, the longer research time isn't that bad. Obviously, you're going to be building more than one ox cart or longhouse. So you can research multiple techs at once

Not sure when this was played, if this was before or after Beasty was coached by IamMagic. I recommend checking out games from Magic as he's one of the AoM's best players and I see Fitz cast a few Magic games as well.

Dominant Zeus play. It was like watching a bully flip a turtle on its shell lol. You can't just sit there and tank strong hoplites/toxotes/heroes as freyr then. But that eco difference was also huge.

Because he didn't scout that his opponent was doing it. You don't get to see how many time centers your opponents have in this game anymore without scouting

You should consider enabling "Friend/Foe Colors" for casting when players choose shitty colors - its hard to follow in the minimap that cursed gray

Have you considered trying out a one-sided casting episode just for fun? For example, you would pick one of the players, turn off the stat breakdown (if possible) and only enable that player's vision and comment from that perspective alone. I think it would be exciting to not know what's going to happen and where, to kind of re-live that player's experience.

In hindsight it's easy to talk, but as soon as zeus started expanding freyr needed to raid hard. It was surprising how little early game raiding and harassment there was.

To be fair to Viper he's really focused on AOE2. He tried AOE4 just to see if it feels good to him but decided AOE2 suits more his playstyle. For AOM, both Beasty and Viper are just testing the waters. Both with different approaches, Beasty from what I'm seeing is just focusing on one civ/god while Viper is testing out different civs/gods.

Honestly ngl BEASTY could be in top 5 AOM pros easy if he decides to play the game seriously THEVIPER still needs a lot of practice and micro management regarding his civs + units strengths ( which he used to do in AOE 2 obviously) I am curious if HERA will also switch so we can see HERA against BEASTY
