Man, I really hope the season pass thing doesnt monetize the scoreboard further. Already have to get fallout 1st to get the good rewards from it. Adding yet another microtransaction to it to get stuff is just gonna kill my interest in the game. As the scoreboards are really the only reason that I play the game often. And I think a lot of other people will feel the same in that regard. But I suppose we will have to see what happens once more info comes out about it.

I'm hoping it acts like an alternative to first, where if someone isn't Subscribed but wants the scoreboard rewards they can just buy a season pass. But then again, they already could do that by just finishing the scoreboard and buying a single month of first to unlock it all retroactively. So who knows what greedy scheme they might be cooking up.

From what little I've heard so far it seems like they're moving away from the linear progression system and instead we'll be earning points which can then be directly cashed in for rewards. The image here doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be more monetized than it already is, it may just be displaying everything that already exists a hell of a lot clearer than it already is in game. Based on the 1st logo and 1st titled benefits all of the stuff on the left side will likely still be included with 1st and not an additional monetization tacked on for 1st members. The right side "season pass" with what looks like space for a variable atom price could likely just be a different representation of the ability to buy out rewards, or it could be a whole new thing that lets people buy in to the seasons 1st rewards without having to pay the full 1st subscription.

I hope that it only gives a bonus to people who doesn't get fallout 1st. Like the bundle sets for $29, they are buyable with atoms so free players who grind the scoreboard for 1500 atoms gets to buy either the FO1st rewards or buy something in the shop. Scoreboard sucks, just pocket the money to use later since the Scoreboard has gotten worse instead of better! 😅

It's the sheer lack of realism it results in. The world is in many aspects the opposite of what a post-government environment would look like (just take a quick look at any 'less developed' country or at gangs in and outside of prison or at any history book). And fo76 cannot afford to have cartoonish and naive lore and quests, because it has precisely 0 end game content (collecting skins is some extra flavor at best). This game is exactly what its consumers deserve, an absolutely pointless gameplay loop in a comically progressive environment that has almost 0 ties with reality and common sense. Leaderboards or raids? No, grind the same events for a chance at a pink power armor skin

Personal prediction (and sort of hope i guess?): the battle pass system will allow us to purchase old scoreboards and play through them for the first time or complete ones we didn’t finish. I genuinely don’t know, but if a battle pass is coming that is my… hope at least? This is so weird as I felt like First sort of was the battle pass in a weird way. We’ll just have to wait and see, but I’ll just stay cautiously hopeful for now.

I don't think that Bethesda would be crazy enough to make scoreboards pay-only. There's just not enough content that comes to the game to justify it. With ESO, you can at least rationalize overpaying for a subscription because content comes in very regularly. The vast majority of the "content" in Fallout 76 comes in the form of junk standing in the way of the one or two things that you actually might want off of a scoreboard. I wouldn't pay for that. And if there's no season to do then there's pretty much no reason to log into the game most of the time.

And i think i know how the subscription and the "season pass" will work, my guess is that the scoreboard won't be free anymore and there will be two ways to buy it, you either take a Fallout 1st subscription and get it as a bonus for subscribing or you'll need to buy it with Atoms. And speaking of that, it looks like Fallout 1st will get more advantages. All of that is just a guess by seeing that in the video, i have no proof if it's real, but it's what i think it is.

The BattlePass thingy... I am not liking it very much... hopefully it comes included with the F1st subscription... which, also hopefully, i assume might be only meant to give options to other players like offering a seasons-related susbcription, instead of a continuous subscription. Also I hope that they still allow people to join the season without payment, as they have done since Season 1... I suppose that this is a case of "wait and see".. Also, good to have a robotic ally... I just wish they allowed to have more allies in your camp, and/or to let them join you in your adventures... but I asumme that the latter will be impossible to implement, as the game is buggy as it is and can be temperamental... having to have it ready to roam around a companion might break more stuff within the game mechanics.

I had talked with a few people i dont think its as bad as some think, theres some theories on what it really is and 1 is its an alternative way to get 1st items without buying 1st prolly a way cheap way, 2 being a possible way to not just get current season items outside having first but past season items too, either way hopefully we'll get an official answer what its for
