But or Rent - All Dogs Go to Heaven - • All Dogs Go to Heaven 2
In this animated feature, canine casino owner Charlie (Burt Reynolds) is killed by gambler Carface (Vic Tayback), but returns to Earth from heaven thanks to the powers of a magical, rewindable watch. Charlie sets out to take his revenge on Carface by means of an elaborate plan that involves an orphan girl, Anne-Marie. But as the plan progresses, Charlie discovers that Anne-Marie is being exploited by Carface. Charlie must decide whether to change his mission from one of revenge to one of rescue.

The little girl actor Judith barsi will never be forgotten, she will always be remembered for the all of the great characters that she played. It's just not fair that Judith barsi died because of her father, she was just a little girl. And besides Judith barsi would be 44 years old right now, if she hadn't gotten killed at the age of 10 years old.

Another sad fact is that Judith couldn’t sing “Come Home to my Heart” without crying and another little girl had to come in and sing it instead. Listening to the lyrics about wanting a family who loves you while also knowing what happened to Judith and how her home life was makes this song so much more sad and I can never listen to it without crying..😞💔

When Judith Barsi auditioned for this movie they had her try to sing the song about being home but she broke down in hysterics suddenly, probably because she HATED (was terrified) to be home with her father…. Her agent witnessed the break down and told her mom to take her to a child psychologist, which she did. Less than an hour in the room with Judith and the psychologist diagnosed her as being severely abused and reported to CPS, but CPS closed the case when the mom promised she was going yo take Judith and leave the father. So many people dropped the ball, the abuse going on in the Barsi home was ANYTHING but a secret.

This movie was originally going to be a lot darker. You can tell there was supposed to be more between where the car started moving, and when it flew off the ramp. Also, Carface was originally going to use a machine gun instead of a ray gun. You can see where they didn't change the lipsync.

There’s been numerous occasions that Don Bluth’s films have been edited for understandable reasons. Most notably with All Dogs Go to Heaven’s Hell scene. The sequence was shown at the MGM studio at one time and it was uncut. The demon that rose from the flames had dialogue that said “Now, you’re mine” and then laughs evilly. Don Bluth had the uncut version of the film but went missing, which was unfortunate. It’d be nice to see uncut versions of his films some day.

The way Carface prepared to kill Charlie is actually pretty realistic to how a lot of predator animals prepare for a kill bite in real life; on bigger animals they will pull at the skin around the scruff of the neck with their teeth until it's thin enough for them to bite all the way through the spine or other major nerve.

So sad for many reasons really is a good description here, I'm sure there will be many comments about Judith Barsi, RIP. Don't even ask why they had to get a different actress to sing that one song, you'll cry. The ray gun scene is confusing because it was quickly edited after a school shooting in California. Originally that was supposed to be a tommy gun and it's supposed to show that Charlie couldn't be hurt with the watch but it was considered too violent so they changed it to a "ray gun". They also removed Charlie's body going in to the water on his first death. It's considered one of the darkest G rated movies ever for a reason

Awesome reaction yet again! Honestly, when I was a kid, I failed to realize that Charlie actually sided before going to Heaven at the end (or should I say back into Heaven in this case). I was kind of surprised to see Killer push Anne-Marie to shore at the end. Then again, maybe he got fed up with Carface fighting with Charlie the way that he did? You got me! Anyway, I loved the bond between Charlie, Itchy, and Anne-Marie, and I loved that Charlie had a change of heat as the story progressed, especially near the end. I would say that I prefer this film over All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, or even All Dogs Christmas Carol. Anyway, thanks for reacting to All Dogs Go To Heaven 1. Anyway, great job yet again!

honestly tho even though Charlie is shown to have such a twofaced and scummy attitude through the movie when dealing with Anne-Marie you can tell he's a genuinely good guy to the other dogs by the way they interact with him and are happy when he comes back after being sent to the pound (minus carface and his crew). I think it's because Charlies been hurt too many times by humans, that's why he started out with the attitude he had towards the kid, you can only be so loyal to others for so long before the way they treat you finally breaks something inside of you.
