@@mico6176 I played DW5 a lot more, yes it's fun but it kills the game with kinda easy to beat AI's and cutscenes are kinda meh. Disregard the english dub though, cause it never really went well for DW4.

Cao Cao was such a badass in this game specifically. 😁 Then again, every character is bad ass here. No cringe moments or too much dialogue that just repeats itself over and over again in the story. The stories in DW4 have a much more serious, realistic tone than these newer games. Although I prefer 5 to 4 personally, 4 will still always have a place in my heart as my first DW game. Not to mention the absolute BEST character designs out of the series. 👌

Imo, this game took everything great from DW3XL (close second best game in the series imo) and just added to it. And no, this isn’t nostalgia, these games were just better. AI, Diificulty, gameplay (though of course camera control and freedom of movement during combos is nice in later entries), balance, battlefield simulation, level design, immersiveness, bodyguards, nonlinear levels and etc. Starting in DW5 (3rd best imo), enemy foot soldiers became fodder and officer ai tanked. After whatever 6 was trying to do, DW7 superficially appeared like a return to form but was not at all. Gone was army vs army, levels were now extremely linear and centered completely around you. It’s 1 vs 1,000 only. Your armies and morale do not really matter and nothing happens without you driving it. In ps2 era games, you could stand still and let the armies duke it out. Now it’s just oversaturated with characters and clones and you are just more and more ridiculously OP and it is just not it imo. But anyways, yeah, this game rocked.

Your analysis is well-taken and I agree completely. In all honesty, all that would make DW4 an 11/10 throwback is: 1. Addition of a few more characters (from DW5/DW8) 2. Addition of more Battle stages/Modes (like Destiny Mode from DW5) 3. Configuration improvements like camera control And lastly, an overhaul for the Edit Mode. If Koei could do all this, I wouldn't mind paying upwards of even $100

8 was just a bit too easy in my opinion. Also I miss the Musou attacks from 4. Some in 8 were so Anticlimactic. I do think 7 had the best story telling in the Series. That final cutscene in Jin was just godly.

Nostalgic Vibes... My first Dynasty Warriors that I was playing during my childhood days was DW4, a purely Masterpiece DW game in my opinion. My favourite Dynasty Warriors games of the Entire Franchise will always be 3, 4, 5 and 6 on PS2. 🤷🏻‍♂️✌️

@@PseyechoSamurai Well... from what I remember it's that DW6 Special has more Musou modes for 6 characters, overall the DW6 for PS2 has much more content than the Modern PS3/Xbox 360 consoles which in my opinion it's mind blowing. xD

I enjoyed playing DW4 for its gaming mechanics and challenging enemies, what I dislike it’s the fact they reused the map on many famous battles where you can clearly tell its simply a copy and paste, and lots of character cutscenes are REALLY repetitive and makes character lack originality..

I miss Zhang He and Yuan Shao from this game before they made them over the top Flamboyant. But in Yuan Shao's case, I suppose it gave him more of a distinct character. In Zhang He's case it just made him feel out of place.

I'm using the disc you could try checking the emulator website and see if it gives a compatibility rating on the game and or if other players have reported that issue and a possible fix
