The point of most the games is that he’s a omnipotent being instead of a in universe force. The ones that 4th wall break are usually omnipotent and all powerful within the code so they literally can’t be beaten while more story based ones can.

Well, Sonic.exe crushed one of the emeralds. So, Metal Sonic is probably still very weak compared to him. Which is a shame. He could've been used more for exe games.
