What I love about Beholder is the fact that there's no 100% happy ending. Sure, you can help everyone and overthrow the Wise Leader, but still you won't be totally happy. Hector, Carl and Evan are forever haunted by their memories of people that were hurt one their way to happiness; you cannot simply pass the game without hurting anyone. You have to do at least one unmoral thing to end the game. That's truly magnificient.

Actually in this game it's possible to not do any imoral actions and beat the game, you will just have to work a lot to gain enough authority, 15k by yourself in the 3 floors. Only thing is that you won't be able to get the last ending the "correct" one either way you can get most of the other ones

@Dragon Dragon how so, My consensus does not remove other consensuses based on the fact we view them as wrong, my consensus allows coexistence of other consensuses, weather or not i agree with these other consensuses does not matter, what matters is that one is allowed to express ones self, regardless of what they do or say, you consensus, does not allow freedom, in so far as it goes out of its way to suppress others for safety and security, mind you i am not saying that either consensus is incoreect i am just saying that both have merits that make them valid and invalid to others, i will explain (maybe not the best example) A person seeking to suppress "dangerous" speech may think 1+1 = 2 A person seeking to allow any and all speech may think that 3 - 2 is 1 Both are correct, in a sense but they view things differently, in the end they want the same goal the advancement of people as a whole, the method of approach carries from consensus to consensus, in saying this however each consensus is also wrong to some extent, in it's methodology, an example The left seeks to censor anything and everything that contradicts them, even if it may be true, The right seeks to allow anything and everything, even if it contradicts them or maybe false and wrong in essance neither is right nor wrong, neither is valid nor invalid, they each have there merits and demerits and that is why we are allowed to freely choose in our society, that is also why most people tend to lean one way or the other, because of societal circumstances, example A hard working man with a bussiness may seek to support a free market so his bussiness my prosper, (and i mean one without influence from bigger competitors) A lazy man with no job nor income (weather through faults of his own or not) will seek a welfare state, both however wish for a stable economy, both philosophies are valid and invalid all the same, what may work for one person may not work for another, what maybe moral for example polygamy may be immoral to another, this is how everything works to say that one view point is the only correct one is not only wrong it is grossly incorrect, Now to quickly adress my point in my "comment" it was a joke one you seem to have taken to heart, and i may seem to have taken your retort to heart but believe me with the amount of things like this i get i could careless, the only thing i seek to accomplish is to make you less ignorant and more open to see how other views function and opperate (also given what i just said how could right wingers be triggered by it they seek freedom maybe not in the right means but for the right reasons)
@sulimanthemagnificent48936 жыл бұрын
@Dragon Dragon you make a fair point at the end as for everything else well yee ask and yee shall receive "-If the "right" wishes to allow every thought, even if it contradicts them, why are they so desperately angry to ban ideologically left wing ideas, even moderate centrist ideas such as liberalism even" they may be "angry" with them but you do not see them doing the stuff some other people, do most of the time of course you have your outliers in any given situations but still, you ever heard the quote, "i dont like what you say but i will defend your right to say it" both sides used it, one abandoned it, one side nuters the other with personal attacks, the other side nuters the other with attacks on their intellect, both are bad and neither are good, they do not help a person in any way shape or form "-If the "Left" wishes to suppress all kinds of speech, why then, historically, the sides of freedom of expression and anti-censorship have been contextually and traditionally left wing positions?" they have been "traditional" left wing positions, tradition implying old, and they already threw the old ideas out, the right and i mean the ideological right not the fiscal right there is a huge difference between the two, often opposed the rights of others or if they did not they believed in the theory that the white man would carry everyone else, (and you know what president believed that theory, Teddy Roosevelt, a "liberal" by todays definitions,) they did so out of either spite anger or a felling of power, the contemporary left do much the same with random attacks on people often most of whom have done nothing, and will do nothing, they insult people who "supposedly" (often with no evidence) do not agree with them, is that not the suppression of speech, by threatening harmful acts if one does somthing that does not agree with, their consensus, if you think i am incorrect, then please look through tim pools channel he reports on current events or things he deems relevant, -if a hard working man gets fucked by the system is it his fault? you are asking me two diffrent things, if he is fucked by the system then that is the systems fault, it is irrelivent that he works hard, or is lazy, if he can overcome the barriers and fails too, then it is his fault, but that is why we have SOME regulation in place to prevent larger entities from taking and exerting too much control -if someone wishes to give this man tools to protect him against getting fucked by big competitors, why is it always that this gets called "dangerous socialism" define what kind of help, if it is just handing out free money, then that is not only a detriment to the person receiving the help but to the government helping him, if however a person with private charity were to help that would be more effective, seeing as the money would not have to go through bureaucracy, and you would not have to pay extra workers for no reason, if however the government(s) were to introduce laws that protect small businesses without punishing the bigger ones "that" much then it is fine and useful, free money never solves anyones issues, to see evidence look at venezuala, there economy tanked and so in order to support the welfare they printed more money, which caused inflation and an even bigger failure of the economy leading to the current situation "-why is it that countries that are impoverished and underproductive have the hardest working people (and they even export hard working people) with also the longest working hour shifts?" the local employment opportunities that pay well are few and far between, thus big corporate entities move in for cheap effective labour, of course if you have a nationalised economy (russia) then you tend to not have issues with low pay "-Why is it that countries that have applied welfare state policies by broad consensus and not through negotiations have some of the most effective economies, quality of life and development" The united states did not ask for welfare, but beyond that, the reason these welfare states thrive is simple, they have forced austerity thanks to EU law, that is why italy is having, complications as it wants to recklessly expand its welfare state, to the point that the nation would be swamped with debt in due time, this is also why EU nations have strong economies, they are not in debt, and thus (unlike Venezuela) do not need to print excessive amounts of money to pay the bills, and therefore have a stronger currency, as for the economies being productive, well that explains it's self, incentives and half decent pay, and tax breaks for employees (the last bit may or may not be true im not too sure) Why do you say you wish "to educate me" (and therefore assuming that you are right) if all i said is that Right wing people also wish to censor shit? as i said you have a point so let me articulate what i wanted to originally, both consensuses are wrong and right, therefore both should be treated the same, even if one does not support the methods by which they achieve there goal(s)
