I ended up with the Death ending. I did not hold back when dealing with either of Vice or Catiua heel turn or stupid turn for the plot. I was just very merciless in dealing with betrayers that left me for their own reasons and not talking about it. With Vice, his heel turn on me when I chose to preserve life or follow orders always pissed me off, especially when I wished to protect our clansmen and his attempts of assassinations. I never wanted him in my squadron ever again with how he turned out. Yes, I've been told he gets better down in the Law path but... I just couldn't stomach him and part of me just wanted him gone. With Catiua. I pitied her at first, but once she chose to side with Lodis and strike at me. I'll admit, I got hot headed and cut her off then and there. When there was the choice to save her, I was not even sure if I really wanted to because of how she kept going on with 'Don't leave me' and 'woe is me' mindset while we're all fighting a war. The last nail in the coffin was her siding with Lodis. I didn't like the guys in Ogre Battle 64, I was certainly not going to sympathize with them now nor anyone that decides to work with them. Did I regret my choices? Sort of, because I really wanted our trio to work together like it was suppose to be played out back in prologue. Yet it fell apart no matter what choices you make. I did not know why I kept getting the death ending till I somehow stumbled on getting the Lord ending and Princess ending by pure accident because I wanted to see what the other options had available to me. True... I did almost 90% of the time either killed or ditch Vice and 80& of the time I just wanted to slap Catiua senseless. The few times I spared them, I didn't even bother with leveling or training them. Just benched them and left it at that. Additional Edited: I did not even know Ozma could be recruited! Dang... I need to not let my blood lust for Lodius to blind me so dang much.

@@MarkATorres1989 🧙🏼‍♂️ I agree with you in part, there are times that I want to kill all traitors without any pity too hehehe 🧙🏼‍♂️But when you think about it, most people there are victims of situations trying to do what they believe is right. 🧙🏼‍♂️The story of Ozma and Hobyrin is such a tragic case, don't miss tomorrow's video so you can see everything you missed on the lawful route

@@WarrenReport Yeah if there is a way to speak to my younger self - I'd only tell him. "Give them a chance to explain and both listen and look for those signs. But always be ready for the possible second betrayal." Again while I would still pity Catiua. I feel the story made her stupid for convenience sake. As for Vice, that dude always got under my nerves and I just could never do well to progress into the lawful route. I always look forward to your videos.

currently on the ps1 version through emulation. I just chose to slaughter the people we were suppose to protect. I guess im on the lawful route. Will do a seperate save and try the chaos

I got the Death Ending on PSP way back. I was not very good at the game, mechanically and as far as following the story goes lol. Had no idea that killing Catiua was a big deal, nor how to abuse the Lord class.

Excellent video. I played the PS1 version and got the Lawful/Death ending first time, the Chaotic/Princess the second and Neutral/Princess on the third. Btw Lans never recovered in any of my playthroughs... is it even possible in the PS1 version? I remember back in 1998 when I bought the game I thought it was a Zelda-like game (the snes game btw)... Started playing and got disappointed it wasn't but soon the game mechanics grew on me and when I reached Krizar my party was slaughtered lol, I was so mad thinking the game was too hard that I shelved it for almost a year. After playing FFT I understood what this game was about and made it to the end. This game is still 1000x better than any other tactic rpg I played to this day. And I miss the original names like Aloser lol

@@WarrenReport I mainly choose that route because you get all the most powerful characters. The White Knights, Ozma, Raveness, Vyce, the sister, and then the Coda characters as well.

@@matthewbarnard9067 youre right on that! I was thinking that true players were the ones that played the game there in 1997 like myself...we didnt know about the next chapters, so lawful route was just "im gonna kill a lot of innocent people because im a bad guy".

You think Denam could push back the Lodis invasion if the island was 100% behind him to fight them? Seeing how Denam was able to defeat the Dark Knight Legion, I would assume he would minimum be able to resist them until the Xenobia army maybe get involve? If not out right push them back if things goes well? Imagine Magnus from Ogre Battle 64 join in the fun too on the Island to kick Lodis ass. I wonder if doing Ogre Battle what if could interest you? Like What if Xenobia army got involve in the Palladium events or if the Lodis invaded Xenobia during the Ogre Battle 64 events and so on.

I don't think so... the time-traveling Denam with cosmic powers is more of a game mechanic for us than a canonical reality of the story, especially CODA 4. Denam is still a human, and even though he is a good strategist (in fact, we players are) he could be subjugated by a more numerous army. The Dark Knights are a SMALL ELITE GROUP of Lodis, so all the Templars we face are part of that minority, Lodis' army is much more powerful

I always kind of figured Denam would end up as Catuas general or something. But no. Matsumo will not let us have a happy ending for a character.

He cannot stay in Valeria as that would cause internal revolts and unfortunately more wars. But he goes to Xenobia to see the land of his new friends, it's a happy ending in a way!

@@WarrenReport I respectfully disagree. They would all be worse off without Denams actions and having him as her general wouldn't be the worst thing. All he has to do is bend the knee and he's good. I also kinda got weird vibes from Catuia like she had an unnatural affection for her "brother". Now I might be way off but seeing as how they are not siblings maybe Denam becomes king through marriage? Then the populace can kiss his shiny metal ass.

Denam deserves all the credit because WE follow his journey personally. This is not what happens to the general population, for some he is a murderer of his own race, regardless of whether his participation in the massacre has been proven to be true or not. Furthermore, during the war he killed MANY people of various races, all of whom had their families and personal histories (worth reading in the warren report), so a large part of bakram, galgastan, and new walister resistance detest him (that's why in the end where Denam becomes king he is murdered, people can't stand him). It's a beautiful ending where he is adored and pacifies the island (with Catiua or not by his side), but being very realistic, as is the game's proposal, I consider it IMPOSSIBLE...not being sacrificed as a martyr for peace is already a great victory for him hehehe

The princess ending is the Canon one? I remember that was a huge discussion about it back then, but is Canon on the remake also? Technically the high chaos frame ending is always the Canon one on ogre series, is it not?

Usually yes, but the story is all built for Cashua to become the queen and bring peace to the clans and Denam going to Xenobia

Because he's counting each character's unique endings, but these aren't exclusive. You can make a combination of the 3 main endings that are in the video + exclusive endings of some characters that are in your group

From my point of view all endings suck. Death ending is a joke since you could survive the assasination attempt and go after the factions. Lord ending is a even bigger joke, since even if you avoid the assasination ending. you are told. you are going to fight an army of Infinity+1 I'm a man of might makes right. no suprise catiua end up dead in my first playtrough. I' don't see her at the throne. someone who took the easy way out leading people...
