I think it would probably work as in each level of magnitude would take 33-50% out of whatever was remaining out of the last level of magnitude, so 1x would take 33-50% of Europe, but a 2x would take that plus another 33-50% more, and 3x even more. If that is correct, and we highball Europe's 14th century population and put it at 100 million, and low ball the deadliness of each magnitude to 33%, then a 3x Black Plague would kill about 97% of Europe's population and kill all but about 3.7 million people. But it would never kill anyone. But then again I'm not an expert virologist so I could be completely wrong.

Idk, it seems a little sketchy: if it is deadlier, it doesn’t mean it spread more than before, it has only a higher probability of killing someone only if he’s infected. So probably everyone who catches dies, but it will not spread among all Europe and the percent of person who died by Black Plague will be remain (probably) the same.

An alternative Luxembourg should be based on their power during 14th century HRE. In 1308 count Henry of Luxembourg was elected Emperor of the HRE and the House Luxembourg was Holy Roman Emperor until 1437 when the last of their line died and Burgundy inherited their land. If the House Luxembourg had had a male heir their power could have grown over the years and a proper empire could have emerged.
