For the girl, from what I've seen of someone actually referencing game code about it, the mechanic is that she also counts the amount of times she's tried haunting you, regardless of whether or not she suceeds at making you see her. At I believe 5 attempts, she'll then have an 85% chance to run at you immediately if you see her, even if you haven't seen her twice before. There's a bit more to it than that, would have to find that code snippet again. So basically not looking at her delays her going into her attacking phase, but you can't entirely prevent it. I feel like there's something broken about the bees AI when dealing with multiple players. It's at the point where I tell my friends to stay far away if I'm doing beehives. Typically, you juke the bees, snatch the hive and run and drop it when your stamina gets low, and they return to the hive. I've had many instances in multiplayer games where my friends just think they're helping but the bees end up refusing to go back to the hive and you get pretty much really dangerous nomadic bees that roam around the map and if you're unlucky enough for them to aggro on you, you will basically die guaranteed unless you can get somewhere safe without running out of stamina. It's kinda gotten to the point where bees are a sizeable risk to go for, especially in the vicinity of other players.
@alextheonewarrior10 ай бұрын

@@alextheonewarrior One way to consistently produce roaming bees is to huff a lot of tzp inhalant and then run a long distance with the hive. I personally think part of the danger of the Bracken comes from the pure *chaos and panic* it creates. Once a Bracken is sighted, most teams will group up, become extremely paranoid and timid. Grouping up lowers the ground covered, interfering with quota. And the paranoia will sometimes lead to crewmate or even full teams bailing on something. That, or constantly checking over their shoulder will entice the Ghost Girl into killing them. I am aware that a professional player will be much less phased by the knowledge that a Bracken is around, but in a team, *not everyone is always prepared.*
@Nyxael58459 ай бұрын
What makes Brackens so effective is that they are completely _silent_ when moving. Sure, when they are spotted they will growl and retreat but players must now become vigilant to check their surroundings constantly to prevent their necks from being snapped.
@zucchinilover44910 ай бұрын
I disagree with masked placement. Due to their random sprint, you need a pretty large area to be able to deal with them properly, and they are capable of killing you effectively in one hit. Additionally, they are extremely punishing. If you die, now there's two of them. They also can go outside, which means you can't just leave the facility like you can any other enemy. They also sprint twice as often when outside and can threaten the ship person, who is in no position to circle kite them. At the very least they should be higher than thumper, but I'd put them as high as S due to the reasons mentioned.

Yee I can understand their placement in a straight forward combat scenario where you have a shovel and are prepared for them, but stuff like surprise attacks where you just run straight into someone with their back-turned only for it to be a masked, or where one hides on the ship to ambush the last player who may not have a shovel equipped and might already be running from other monsters makes them a far more versatile and dangerous enemy then the predictable spider IMO

Some good examples are: Ghost girl + Dogs, Coilhead + Bracken

Coilhead alone basically disables a player already because you're not free to look around and explore. Everything else in the facility can be killed, shaken off, or reset in some way, but once you run into a Coilhead you're pretty much down a player. Even just leaving the facility with one around is more difficult because of turrets/mines/holes that you cant easily check.

I agree a lot with this list, especially the coilhead placement. What makes the enemies so hard and annoying for me is I can't practice against the ones that give me difficulty since they kill me too fast. Things I see often like Dogs, Jesters, Brackens, they're totally fine with me but I'm yet to kill a nutcracker because they kill me so quick in the few times Ive run into them.
@OreallyR1710 ай бұрын
Rend has a high spawn rate of Nutcrackers, and don't have much else to spawn. I recommend that map for practice. You can even go in, get loot and get out before anything spawns so you can keep the qouta going too. Around 4pm is often when I go hunting for them. Dine is also a good map if Rend is eclipsed.
@DreamcastGenesai10 ай бұрын
Nutcrackers are fine I feel unless you have multiple people with you. If you have people with you that aggro it early or in a moment you didn't want or is severely disadvantageous, it can kill your whole crew easily in a matter of seconds. That's why when me and my friends play, we usually only have two at most to deal with one, or to watch for Coils or Brackens while the other goes for the kill. Most importantly though, you want to ALWAYS lure or fight a Nutcracker with reliable cover. They're obviously much easier to fight in mansions than in facilities because of bookshelves, pillars, etc. You're probably aware of all this by now, but just as long as you have good loop spots or cover, it makes a Nutcracker killing you a tad bit easier to avoid
@davidpowers117510 ай бұрын
Go to Rend, and if you die... just quit the game before your ship goes into orbit. It won't save and you'll go back to your latest autosave (before you landed on Rend). Rinse and Repeat. @josephburchanowski463610 ай бұрын
A big thing with them is avoiding the berserk mode. When they are on their last hit, they shoot super quick. They are 5 hits to kill, so if you got in two pairs of double swings, now it will be difficult to get the final hit. But if you hit it 3 times (such as a single swing followed by a double swing), then you can finish it off with a double swing without dealing with the berserk mode.
@wirb385910 ай бұрын
I would swap spider and thumper. Currently the thumper is super easy to kill solo with a shovel, just take the initiative and stop him from speeding up. If tou mess up its just a small nibble. But spider doesn’t slow down and if it hits you its almost an instant kill, and you might accidentally back up into a web. However without a weapon the tier list makes sense because you can just avoid the spider but the thumper will actively hunt you
@arstulex10 ай бұрын
Spiders also seem to have janky hitboxes. The shovel will often hit _through_ the spider at the wall or floor instead (making the metallic "ting" sound instead of the 'fleshier' hit sound). That mixed with the fact that you need 5 hits to kill them means fighting them can be pretty tricky sometimes. I quite often engage them, backpedal while hearing "ting ting ting ting" then eventually get snagged on something or run out of space to backpedal into, leading to a quick death. Hopefully the shovel hitbox changes coming in the next update will improve this.
@zeelyweely159010 ай бұрын
As you said, I think the tier list makes sense in a regular scenario where you might not be armed, which is a lot of multiplayer games. The only thing I disagree with is the Earth Leviathans. Albeit, they're a simple concept, sometimes I've had them come up from behind me, and retracing my footsteps like you are usually supposed to do, gets me killed when they are. You also have to think about if they come from the left or the right since the audio for the rumbling is mono when they're close. (not the audio for when they're about to jump you.) Personally they're more of a low B tier.

What works more consistently is just dropping things and running ahead. I even dealt with two worms patrolling around my (last loot) bottles that way, must've heard the rumbling 20 times for sure, but I got my darn bottles eventually. Coilheads are my favorite enemy in the game, precisely because of how dangerous they are, and how they force a major change to player behavior to manage the situation. Plus I love the head bobbling around giving a visual representation of the momentum they had a split second before you looked at them. Giants can be killed by worms but yeah other than that are invincible, but every time they spawn we just end up cheesing them by having someone stand on top of the ship to distract them, and as a terminal guy they can never reach me and I just teleport anyone who gets grabbed. Dogs on the other hand, although there are a variety of tricks we use to deal with them, always feel like a careful balancing act of not making any mistakes. One slip up and things can spiral out of control fast. In other words, what I'm saying is I'd swap Giants and Dogs in their place on the tier list. Baboon Hawks and Spore Lizards do feel like they need to be in an F tier. You'd be tempted to put the worm there too but honestly they have a higher kill rate so they can stay in D.

Having been on "coilhead duty" a few times, I usually just scroll twitter while having it in my line of sight at spawn meanwhile everyone else just gets to actually play the game and have fun. That's the best case scenario. Worst case scenario is that it either spawns and instantly kills you before you can even physically react with no counterplay, or it comes in when you're dealing with an S-tier threat and you just die because there's nothing to be done. His explanation was not correct, staying silent makes Baboon Hawks attack you. You need to both look and talk without backing away from it backwards. Sideways is fine. You can't "not look at it" as he says. And they don't get aggro from you looking, they back away when you look.

This is all enemies ranked by danger level for super experienced players. For new to intermediate to even relatively experienced players, coil-heads are nowhere near being the highest danger out of all of the monsters. I appreciate the placement of the nutcrackers because most other people put them lower but the giants, dogs, thumpers, and masks are severely underrated in how difficult they are to deal with. If you are soloing, then dogs and masks make sense to be placed where you ranked them but in a group it is an entirely different story. As for giants, they are always horrible. If you are soloing you have nobody to save you from them and if you are in a group there's always that one guy who leads one or two over to the ship and makes it impossible for anyone else to get back because the giant will be guarding it for the rest of the night.

Here's a personal list from someone with a ton of experience in the game S+: Coilheads(no brainer) S: Giants(almost put at S+ since there's almost no way to properly deal with them efficiently without wasting the time waiting for them to path in a way that you can move around them unseen but also they are sometimes nowhere in the way and can be ignored entirely), Brackens, Jester, Snare Fleas(can be very random and is almost never expected as it isn't worth constantly looking above yourself as you run around on rend. Also worth noting is if you don't have a shovel or if you aren't near an exit/no teleporter you're just automatically dead) A: Nutcracker, Earth Leviathan B: Thumper, Ghost Girl C: Spider, masked, Circuit Bees(constant looming danger of them being bugged out in a lobby with randoms where they chase you until you die if 2 of the players try doing it at the same time) D: Hoarder Bugs, Slimes, Spore Lizard, Baboon Hawks

Great video learned a bit had a couple myths dispelled. Only thing I would change is knocking the bracken down a rank because he really isn’t that dangerous the only time he ever kills me is when I rush around corners, even when it charges you I can get away fairly easily.

This represents danger, not how much they actually kill you (though those can sometimes overlap), in comparison to the weaker enemies that almost never kill me the bracken can still sometimes pose a threat and will force everyone inside to constantly spin around, which is a lot more than a snare flea will do

Funnily enough, I've died to loot bugs more times than probably any other creature, I just have a really difficult time with their hitbox, conversely, I've never been snuck up on by a coil head, and I've died to them only a couple of times lofl. Brackens were my number 1 death until I finally got in the habit of constantly looking behind me.
@lordmarshmal_064310 ай бұрын
Honestly I agree with that coilhead rating, I've had many an experience with em: - 2 times where I got tag-teamed by one attacking me while I'm already busy with a thumper - My solo attempt at the first challenge moon where one dropped down from upstairs and didn't fuck me up but did get me in a panic in combination with the kid and nutcracker - Running Titan with 2 others, I went up to the entrance as normal while the other 2 inverse'd inside; I first checked the main entrance and immediately got found by a coilhead bearing down on my position from the left, but there was a door in the way at least. The other 2 paths were brick hallways that I didn't feel confident about, so I decided to bail and check the fire exit. I hear them yelling about something the moment I get in, I hear one say "RUN!" and then the jester screaming started... (for full disclosure, this was on a stormy day and how I died was the most anti-climactic thing ever, I just got randomly sniped by lightning on the way down, only thing I had was a flashlight; one of the others managed to buy enough time with the jester to allow our third guy to find the main exit and get out) Also the way I think of how brackens and snare fleas get to people is by preying on complacency - they always drift to the back of your head (in more ways than one if you think about it) either if one hasn't appeared in a while or you're busy with other pressing matters, and that's when they swoop in

I got a tip for coilheads since it was ranked so high. Bring it back to the main entrance with the small looks (beware it raises insanity level quickly), then, when you're near the door, keep on moving it until you can interact with the door and see it. Easy peasy, but might not be able to do it in time if another monster is nearby.

For coil heads, you can lead them to rooms with multiple doors in succession. Their little arm stubs can’t open doors very fast. It helps lose the coil head, giving you two minutes before it appears behind you and kills you.

Nice Video Wurps(been watching for quite a while keep up the good content), I tend to agree with the monster listing maybe except for Jesters those are very annoying and tend to end looting whenever they camp at the door of mansions. It's interesting to see how people's perception of the danger of the monsters changed from launch to now. Outside monsters used to be the most difficult for people to deal with but as people get more experienced(I'm refering to the groups I run with not necessarily you) their perception of what is actually difficult to deal with changes, the Coilhead being the biggest slow burn monster ever. They're Impossible to deal with if even one person underestimates how far they can move when not looking at them in my experience, so when dealing with them if you make one fuck up in explaining how or underestimating how they work it can kill multiple people and nearly end your run also communication is so very very important with Coilheads telling people where they are will improve your chances alot. From what I've seen as Terminal Operator the Coilhead is a fast medium dot and it has a patrol pattern where they move really fast so you won't often get it confused with brackens because brackens do not patrol, but I have confused Jesters with Brackens as explained in your earlier monster guides. It can be really difficult sometimes to judge what monster is what from the dots sometimes. Looking forward to the new updates and other changes the Developer makes in the future, and I'll especially be looking forward to your content then. Stay safe Wurps, your work keeps the company happy.

The worms have killed me more times than I'd like to admit. I've seen all the guides and tips, some say to drop everything and sprint straight forward as soon as you hear one, some say to juke them by going to the side or even backwards. I've tried all of these methods, but I seem to always instantly die, sometimes before I even have the chance to react. I had one kill me without even making the grumbling noise beforehand. Maybe I'm just unfortunate and keep running into them on accident or by chance, or just super unlucky with them immediately attacking as soon as I'm in range. But they're definitely an A tier for me.
@IDyn4m1CI10 ай бұрын
Same bro. They're probably one of the worst of them in terms of RNG. As soon as I hear one, if I'm not near any facility door or the ship, I just assume I'm already dead. I've also tried everything and so far the most reliable method I've found is saving my sprint, dropping EVERYTHING as soon as I hear one, and run, towards the ship or any entrance nearby. I don't think they can keep up with your character's running speed without any weight on you. It is not 100% guarantee that I'll survive because sometimes I run out of stamina before I reach safety. And you have to leave everything behind, which is awful

Depends on your finances, when late in quota I'll bring multiple flashlights and a shovel or a walkie with me and put them at the entrance for when they're needed and just leave them behind One shovel is always a good idea as well as a walkie if there's a terminal user, pro flashlights can save a lot of time but might not be worth it early on due to inventory space

I have to agree with some of the people here in that the Earth Leviathans should not be on the same tier as baboon hawks, hoarding bugs, and spore lizards. The enemies in Tier D have either a single and (almost) bulletproof strategy to counter, or are non-hostile unless provoked. The Earth Leviathans, albeit not too crazy to play around, can really screw up your scrap trips to and from the ship. Three good reasons why you should be worried of worms outside the ship: - Dying to a Worm deletes your items. This is something no other monster can do (hoarding bug takes, but doesn't delete). Even if you dodge worms, the items you dropped to avoid the worm could get eaten. Losing one person at the end of the day isn't terrible, but their items they were holding being unrecoverable? - Worms in conjunction with Dogs makes working around dogs a simple task to stressful levels. 1 Dog and 1 Worm, you're likely to lose a person to one of those. - Worms can come from any direction (although you end up running into them more often). With a small chance that the Worm will erupt quicker than you can react and leave the range after you hear the rumbling, you're still leaving some of it to RNG. With the rest of D tier being monsters that when encountered, have very little impact on your run, the Worm (mostly in multiplayer) can do a lot of damage, even if to some they don't die to them often. I personally would put them in low B tier, but the case to put them in high-mid C tier I think could be made. Edit: I realize that perhaps the tier list is keeping the higher tier maps in mind more than lower tier. The popular high tier maps, Rend and Titan, don't see Earth Leviathans that much (12% and 3.5% respectively, which I can see why they don't seem like a problem to Wurps. On Experimentation, Assurance, and Offense, the Earth Leviathans spawn way higher (42%, 49%, and 18% respectively), and you still see them in Vow and March, although not as high.

This might be a hot take but I would rank the jester around the same level as a loot bug, the only scenario where it actually kills you is either that you didn't know what it does, youre playing with friends in such a huge layout you couldn't hear it or you ran in so far that you can't find your way out, wich you should never do anyways. The jester sure is iconic but it really isn't a threat and honestly just takes away power level for actually threatening monsters spawning.

Yknow, I have ten-thousands of hours of FPS practice including competitive, and that muscle memory of glancing back really makes it so that if its just a Bracken, I never die. BUT, they're still A/S, because they become so much more alive with certain enemies, and they *require* attention unlike many other enemies. They're also just, well, *good*. It says a lot that as someone who's essentially trained to deal with them, they're still absolutely terrifying. Stupidly enough, most of my deaths to them is because I ran into them like a dumdum though XD
@IDyn4m1CI10 ай бұрын
You can also cheese the Nutcracker. Doesn't make them any less dangerous, but you can kill them much more easily solo if you're actively hunting them down. You don't have to kite around corners and bait him to shoot, you just crouch under his gun and shovel him to death. It's not 100% safe and you'll still die if he randomly decides to run towards you after the first shot, and instantly kick you. Very rarely he does that though, mostly when you ambush him with his back towards a wall.

I hard agree with the top of the list. One of my worst situations ever in this game was having my teamate (we were supposed to stick together) leave me alone right after I called a coilhead ahead of us. Naturally, thinking he saw it too I started going around it to check for loot and even explained that plan to him. Somehow I found myself stranded on the other side not knowing if he was still alive. Eventually the coil moved and traped me in unfamiliar corridors, but I started asking for backup over the walkie-talkie, only (and it was my mistake) I had accidentally turned off my microphone... Anyway, after minutes of staring at a coilhead, trying to find an angle to reach the rest of the team I finally figure out the mic situation, call for directions (to escape by walking backwards), but guess what jumped me without making any noise while I couldn't turn around? braken.

Maybe not the same tier, but for me personally, S tier on rend and dine. You can't see shit in the snowstorm, and if you don't have stun grenades, you're extremely vulnerable since you're basically crouch walking the entire time and just pray that you'll spot it first before it sees you. If it starts giving chase while you're far away from the entrance or the ship, you're dead without someone teleporting you away. Makes loot transporting incredibly difficult and annoying, and the vast openness of these maps doesn't make it easy. I don't talk about radar booster because you'll most likely have to carry back lamps or paintings, so no inventory space for that. Also, they're FOREST keepers, wtf did they forget in snowy mountains? Due to all these issues, I feel that they do not belong at all in these moons and are just cheap

I find whoopie cushion a very nice item when dealing with dogs, just find a empty spot, yell at it, drop the cushion then crouch and doge, dogs will be agro to it forever, since it farts when attacked by dog, may draw more dogs when another one walks by. Most importantly whoopie cushion worth very little. It is always better not to kill anything if its manageable since another mob spawns really fast and unmanageable.

I kind of agree and kind of disagree with the coilhead placement. For me, the best way to fix them would be to raise their power level from 1 (which is insanely low) to 2 or 3, meaning they'd contribute a lot more to the overall share of monsters you'll see in one run. As it stands, one person is kinda boned but everyone else can keep looting and collecting scrap, same as with the ghost girl. That was kinda why I was surprised you put the jester so much lower than the coil. Once you have a jester, you kinda can't clear out much past the entry to the main door or fire exits, but you can clear out everything if one person collects the coilheads. Closing regular doors on them also slows them down by like 20ish seconds, so you can make some distance by closing a door on them.

I mostly agree with this list. The only disagreement I have is the Bracken. After my first handful of encounters with it, I've never died from it since. It's become essentially a non-threat to me. Primarily because I've adapted to glance behind myself pretty often (which also helps stop surprise coil-heads). For the Baboon Hawks, I'm surprised by the statement that yelling at them doesn't help. Mainly because, I've been alone and surrounded by three of them before and I yelled at them and they backed away and didn't attack me during my entire trip back to the ship. I also know it wasn't influenced by mods as I've yet to use mods. Perhaps I just got extremely lucky, but since it's worked for me before I'll keep yelling at them. (Added, the fandom and the miraheze wikis state that yelling at them works.)
@ShaggyLad10 ай бұрын
Totally agree about the Bracken. As long as you're on top of checking behind you and keeping tabs on where you last saw them, they really don't pose much of a threat. If I'm exploring and run into a Bracken I just keep going knowing I'll have to spin my camera every several seconds.
@omegadragons32110 ай бұрын

@IDyn4m1CI10 ай бұрын
Of course if you're only dealing with the Bracken, then it's very easy to avoid him. The problem arises when you have to deal with other enemies/threats and there's a bracken stalking you. I've died to a Bracken while 1) trying to shovel spiders and thumpers to death, 2) trying to close broken steam valves, 3) trying to find my way back with a coilhead on me (that's probably the deadliest combo), 4) trying to kill a nutcracker (mf snapped my neck when I only had to hit the nutcracker one more time to kill it) 5) trying to not look at the ghost girl while cornered in a room. Not to mention they are very easy to anger if multiple people spot him, only taking like 1s before he goes sicko mode. So yeah, IMO they are still pretty much very dangerous enemies
@maxtomchris10 ай бұрын
@@IDyn4m1CI I do agree with the bracken being more difficult and lethal when there are other enemies, but that not only applies to all monsters.. but for multiple creatures in this video he rated them based on facing them alone. Some monsters are better left untouched because their presence alone still takes up monster power. Spider is a very good, if not the best example. It's extremely passive for majority of time, will most likely camp somewhere out of the way, and has a whopping power level of 3. Hopefully, you won't have to kill it, because if you do, that's freed up space for a potential thumper, bracken, or 3 coil-heads spawn. Spider is still a threat, and in rare cases can be a big pain to deal with, but it's nowhere near the same level of danger as other entities of the same power level.

Some other things to point out: coilheads can spawn up to 5 which is fcking insane. Brackens can teleport around the map. Its a misconception that they walk around but if ur on the terminal and watching players, if they chase a bracken backing away, u can clearly the red dot move out of their sight before blipping out of the screen like a little splash in the pond. As far as ik they’re the only physical creatures that can do this meaning if u think u locked a bracken behind a door or whatever, it isnt and it doesnt matter if u came from a deadend long after a brack spawned, ur gonna need to do 360s every now and then just for the sake of it. Which isnt that big of a deal tbh cuz most ppl dont keep track of a mental map so they do it anyway but sometimes ur backed in a deadend hall and u think ur safe but u might not be
