From the look of it, Garou is now putting up a fight similar to Boros. What we have yet to see is Saitama using any of his "Serious Series" of moves. The reason for that is cause he promised Tareo (the little kid who Garou saved) that he wouldn't Kill him, only that he would only stop him. I think saying that Garou is "putting up a fight" against Saitama or saying that Garou could "now be stronger that Saitama" is a bit of an over-statement and a little naïve. Saitama has been defeating God level monsters with a single punch (not even serious series) while not even trying. You are seeing the same thing in his fight against Garou, he doesn't even view Garou as a threat and actually says "If you're not a monster, I'm out" and walks away before Garou attacks him. He also says later "Your cosplay there looks really intricate" to Garou thinking that he is just wearing a costume. The only reason the fight looks like "Garou might win" is cause Saitama isn't really trying at all, if anything he is just playing with Garou. The only fight Saitama has lost was against a mosquito in season 1.

Nah God Form Garou is way stronger than Boros, he managed to make saitama grow even stronger, you could say Garou is literally as strong as Saitama before his fight with Garou, only difference between them is that saitama's growth is infinite and exponential, something that garou can't ever surpass making saitama not even realise his growth cause from his perspective hes beating garou's ass just as easily, a way to tell that saitama got stronger is by looking at his punches against garou, he punched monster garou so many times doing only moderate damage meanwhile others die in one punch, but then that would mean saitama punching god form garou wouldn't harm him at all, but since he does harm him, hes definitely stronger and always getting stronger no matter who he faces.

If you look deep down saitama is a really thought out character. He is relatable in that he’s like a maxed out character that can beat anyone and he’s a regular guy but also non relatable since he’s so strong. One punch man explores depression in a way that’s fun, and sad at the same time, while also having all the great art, well written characters, and hype it deserves. The manga was basically a second chance to right the wrongs ONE did with the webcomic. So, I’m actuality, saitama is a greatly written character.

Funny thing is, Garou evoluted through 5091239 different forms due to his sheer anger and inability to match up, whilst Saitama never really even had a chance to do the same. So most blokes are really fighting the first, weakest form of Saitama (regardless of which series of moves and which moves he uses). Conceptually (mathmatically) "infinity" only means that it cannot be measured, and that it is always bigger than any other number. However, in cardinal and ordinal numbers (with the former being relevant when it comes to measuring strength) there are other bigger infinities which are surreal numbers. I guess the bottom line is, "infinity" per se does not fundamentally mean actually "limitless", but mathematically immeasurable quantity that does not have a finite end. Even though this is hard to comprehend, this does not mean that there cannot be another immeasurable quantity (Of course a theoretic number for us humans) that is beyond infinity. If Garou's power is "infinity", then Saitama easily defeats him, if his power is actually "limitless".
