The guitars and drums during the Verse is straight up Death metal, I love it when Joey's, Mick's and Paul's influences show up that much in a slipknot song

@@alexvazquez5019 it was a "huge" in niche death metal bands but wasn't popular at all not every death metal band had it only a select few but after slipknot had it you now see it absolutely every where, every death metal and its subgenres has blast beats you rarely see a band that dosent have it, and when you see from where the newer death metal bands' drummers got their influence from you'll hear Joey's name a lot. So he didn't invent it not even close there were a lot before him who did it but he popularized it

Probably said this in every All Hope Is Gone songs from the album you've reacted but this album is super underrated. All Hope Is Gone song is just perfect for the last track. Like "WHEW What a wild ride.....LET'S GO AGAIN" haha maybe it's just me. Love the reactions as always 🤘❤

This song gives me instant goosebumps and chills everytime i hear it, the name of the song perfectly incapsulate how it makes me feel; it's just very eerie, this song to me is extremely catchy especially with my taste in heavier songs.

This song and Gematria are the best songs on this album and I will die on that hill. These are the only songs (along with This Cold Black) from this album that I frequently go back to. You're correct that it lacks the "catchy" qualities of some of their other songs, but that's what I love about. It's just straight up heavy the whole way through with little to no clean vocals, which is what I wanted from Chapeltown Rag but didn't exactly get. A lot of Slipknot's catchy songs from this era and onward I just don't like.

All Hope Is Gone is the great ending to Gematria's great intro. I may not love AHIG as an album, but I do like it. Good music, even if not all of it is typical Slipknot music.

No you're totally right about Gematria and All Hope Is Gone kinda filling the same roles. At least on the standard edition which doesn't have the bonus tracks, Gematria is like a modus operandi for the record; you couldn't stop us, we're here, and now you have to deal with the consequences of what you created. All Hope Is Gone as a closer feels like the final stand of the battle they're fighting for. It's like even if we lose this war, it's mutually assured destruction because in the end we (as in Slipknot) are hope. All over this album there are lyrics like "I was gonna save the world with honor and aggression" and "We are orphans, but we are not forgotten And we will find a way to save us this time". Slipknot is a voice for the voiceless, and that's something worth fighting for.

I think I know what you mean. Thing is, he's not singing here, just screaming. The melody, when there's one, is not present in the vocals. And BTW I agree with you. I'd take any track from Vol.3 over this any day of the week.

One of the couple good songs on this album along with Gehenna and Snuff. Unfortunately most of this album is throwaway. Even the band hates it. So commercial and some of the worst songwriting from the 9 in their careers. I was stoked that the follow up (Gray Chapter) after Paul's death was light-years better than AHIG because if this had been their last album, I would have been so disappointed.
