Me going through the guide one step at a time on ex8 instead of watching it thru first. Kyo: We're not here to kill it, we just need to stall it. Me: Looking at phase 1 almost dead. "ITLL BE FIIIINE!" it was in fact fine. Turns out the only pieces of the equation I was missing We're Penance and the boss's debuff on hit. Thanks as always for the guides.

Thank you, Kyo-sama! I managed to rub two of my remaining brain cells (and sanity) together to make it through 14 of the 16 stages on my own. LOL The CMs of the HS-EX-3 and 8 had me stumped. I have my Lin but for 3 CM she's too under-leveled, so borrow from support it is, and for 8 CM my E2L69 Penance with S3M3 but no module was thankfully just enough.

Lin deserves (and really wants) that level 3 module. S3M3 too when you can afford it, but I feel it's less impactful since it doesn't change the SP cost.

(Fun fact about the corrupted water tiles: Folinic's talent works for it. Most stages, however, you can't deploy her on the ground tiles so it doesn't matter, however if you have her module then it gives part of the effect to everyone in her range. Source: on HS-EX-6, if I deployed Siege in the middle corrupted area, she'd immediately die from the burst damage. But if I deployed her inside Folinic's range, she'd survive. Also, iirc, Nian's on-deploy shield protects her from the burst damage. On the topic, though, Whislash's module ones does not protect herself from it: apparently she grants it immediately after deploy.)

- Enough of general strat, time for Mlynar variant! This time, due to lack of spawncamp unit, main idea is to *decay SoS for Mlynar to kill* him phase 1, use him again to *halve SoS draconic form* , and when boss circle back to home defense farmlands, use Mlynar to finish him. - Deploy Mlynar be4 setup of van and sustains, at the right of the 2nd giant rat, facing down such that he cover backdoor lane. Don't forget to bring the pumps, and dont decay boss at the 2 lower narrow farmlands. - Setup aoe healers and blockers. When SoS arrive, start truegolden slash. At same time, deploy snipers n Ethan to decay SoS. - Change all vans into tanks and aoe blockers. best tank is below Mlynar 2 tiles to stall SoS. Keep decaying SoS till he escape. Start 2nd truegolden slash when initial Mortar slug reach the backdoor lane. - After that, u should have at 29/72. Use healer and a sustain tank and wait for 4 giant rat to arrive. Golden slash again, ur Mlynar should've dealt >1.1k per hit vs Sos. Kill everyone but boss means u reach 57/72. - After u moved the healing tank to backdoor lane (6 blocks total), Switch to 2nd phase. Now, start Mlynar s3 when SoS lose . U'll leave only SoS alive with half hp, dont forget to retreat everyone in SoS's path. Since the 100 polluted area already cured, SoS slows down. Ur Mlynar have enough time to finish him, bring healer and Gravel to distract boss, congratulations for medal!

Kyo a small important note about the boss the boss can only "mold" a certain amount of time, that is 80times. you can notice that he finished with it, as he doesn't leak the blight anymore with max mold he has 1600attack, 0def and res so as you use click to finish his first phase or used ranger, he already had 0def and res, kroos was just to weak to make a dent with her 446 base attack to be exact: at 28:42 he already got max stack as he didn't leak any blight

HS-EX-7 is actually pretty simple if you've got two pushers on their auto-skill (well, I have their auto-skills with masteries to increase their push force, so it works out, especially the top lane). I assume two pullers could also do the job; this actually seems like one of the levels where Snowsant would shine, but I'd have to check their targeting priorities first before I know for sure, since I *think* they pull the farthest ones first but I don't remember)

​@@ducduncan1525 with every three hits you deal to the boss,the boss will molt,and each molting will reduce his def, attack and weight by a certain amount. The number of molts is limited(i think it's around 100,but it could be less),so your goal is to hit the boss 300 times before your defender will block it. Maybe you don't have raised Haze/Click/Gravel or something, so you can't reach the needed hit amount in time or you deployed someone later?

What are some low star replacements for Ethan? I have him, but I didn't put the resources in to upgrade him so he's still at base level.

Ethan is low stars... um I'm assuming you're talking about EX-8 well, in these cases you're using him for the DoT so instead of Ethan you could use Blue Poison or Thorns or maybe Puzzle or Delphine? alternatively, use a brawler or someone else with fast ASPD, though their problem is that they block so might need repositioning, or bring other snipers or casters that can attack very fast or multiple times. Minimalist is probably the best mech-accord caster for this, followed by Kjera. For snipers, Kroos Alter and Blue Poison are probably the best, followed by GreyThroat or Exusiai. Kirara might do okay as well, too, though obviously not as good as Ethan. ngl asking "what's a low-star replacement for a low-star unit" is a pretty weird question to ask: Ethan IS the low-star replacement unit. However, thinking about it, even a non-built Ethan is probably good enough. You're not using him for DPS, you're using him for the poison stacks. E0 Ethan can still do that. All you need is for him to have enough HP to survive the blighted tiles until you can get your medic out. And...if that's not good enough, just build him then. He's 4-star, so he's cheap. And this event has a lot of upgrade LMD/EXP tickets/materials so you might as well use them.

the higher the boss hp, the higher its atk, so maybe you didnt get the boss hp low enough before it gets to your cuora, so it does chonky dmg, it happened with my shu as well but my healing was good enough to make up for it

@@jazzyjules5747 The boss stack mechanic isn't linked to the amount of HP it has, it's amount of hits that's been dealt to it. Operators that have quick attacks or multi-hits would be preferred, if you want more leeway with its ATK. (Though, for those who want to try that, do be warned that you will need to be careful with the amount of HP left, because it can get lowered to the point where even Cuora can get good amounts of damage in, making redeploy times much more of an issue if mistimed.)
