Thank you, one of my favourite songs and wornderfully performed. I sincerely hope your daughter is on broadway.

Thanks so much! There seems to be a numbers issue on Broadway. They have hundreds of great people auditioning for parts, which makes it very difficult to get seen by the casting people.

Many thanks! I'm hoping that the recent demand to see Phantom in New York (standing room only) will allow the show to stay open past February.

What a beautiful performance from both of you. It's great to hear a beloved piece of music, so well interpreted.

I've been loving Phantom of the Opera for so long (32-33 yrs) that I sometimes forget how beautiful the music is. I don't think there's a show with better music, and I will be sad to see it close on Broadway.

@@TaurusTarkus Yes, I agree. I will manage to see it here in Athens since the London theatre cast is here in February.

Thank her for this stunning performance! Phantom if the opera is the first songs I learned on a Hammond/pipe organ, amazing
@TaurusTarkus Жыл бұрын
I remember working on the amazing pipe organ part decades ago when Phantom was still a pretty new show. When I first saw the show, I was only familiar with "Think of Me," so the shock of that opening scene with the pipe organ gave me the biggest shivers/goosebumps of my life.

Thanks! It's unfortunate to see this show close in NY. I was there recently and poked my head into the theater; they are really gutting it preperation for renovations.

Indeed - Imagine how it hits me! Musical theater can be incredibly powerful (we're going to see Hadestown tomorrow), but when you know the person singing, it really takes it up a notch! We haven't seen her in a show for a while - Looking forward to that day.

@@gregorydolhy1407 Thanks. I hope I didn't sound like I was implying that she was performing in Hadestown or anything else... Like most musicians living in NY, she is now working in another field (personal fitness & health coaching) while she does auditions and tries to get her talent heard. Wishing her and you the very best.

A beautiful performance. Did you realize your camera has you in a profile view and your daughter in a 2/3 view. This is a classic view when two people are in the frame. If you look for this view in older Hollywood films it's everywhere This is very well done on many levels. Your keyboard performance spot on. Yours daughter vocal range and tone is amazing. I found this on December 24th 2022. Just in passing have you looked at any VST instruments. Many amazing products available for composer/arrangers. Thank you for sharing this.
@TaurusTarkus Жыл бұрын
Thank you for this comment!! I had no idea about the profile & 2/3 views and will try to keep that in mind in case we are able to do another video together. In our more recent cover of Rachel's Song (Vangelis), the angle wouldn't have allowed for the view of the keyboard to my left. One of my least favorite aspects of making videos is trying to do the camera work. In this particular video, the autofocus goes in and out a little, which is annoying. I now use Manual Focus and try to focus on something around the correct distance before pushing record. I don't know if there is a better way to do this? I also struggle with getting an angle that shows my hands/playing, which would frequently be easier if filming in portrait. I sometimes think that several different shots edited together would be interesting (I did this a little on Inferno), but I like the idea of an honest, single shot video like someone would see if they were in the room with me. I did some videos in 4K but found that my Fujifilm camera was shutting off after 10 or 15 minutes, and so I'm now using 1080p for most things. Any advice? I have done almost nothing with VST instruments, but coincidentally, I just bought my first one: Cherry Audio's GX-80. This is a remarkable reproduction of both the Yamaha CS-80 and the even more rare GX-1. I'm very fortunate to have been able to play both of these amazing instruments a couple times. The software does a better job with CS-80 than GX-1, but I'm excited to be using the VST to better understand and program these sounds into my other gear. Many thanks!
