Sonny was already a musician and song writer his whole life when he met Cher. He was a music producer that had been trying to make it with no luck. Then he met a 16 year teen Cher and decided to not just record her , but to move her into his apartment, started sleeping with her and made group with both of them singing. He really made her a star, but she also revived him legitimized him by making him young again so people were interested in his songs and him because of the gorgeous young talented girl with him. But she really did fall in love with him because for a teenage girl’s perspective, he was really talented songwriter and had the ability to help her get famous because he already knew the business and had connections. They used each other to get to the top. This same situation happens a lot and is actually the same story for many famous female stars. Almost all of them actually.

They were so good together. Cher especially came out of her shell and became so open and a highly creative performer at this point in her and his lives. I think Sonny helped Cher become so strong as a person/woman/performer, that even after they split up, and he passed on tragically, she was able to be a success all on her own.

I used to think they were the perfect couple. As a boy, they made me laugh and I wanted to be them when I grew up. I was grown up and on my own when I heard, one day on the radio, that they divorced and it hurt me. And years later, when Sonny died in a skiing accident, I was devastated. OMG, that was awefrigginsome! I would never have guessed watching this would induce a moisture effect in my upper facial area, but it did. So cool to see Sonny like holding his own with that super talent he discovered. He wrote the songs, arranged the music, produced the records Even when they quit making records together, he was doing his thing on her early solo songs. He tried a solo career and actually has one song in the top 10. Then when he would do a set at a club, and he came to that song, Laugh At Me, he'd introduce it saying, "I'd like to do a medley of my hit." Word is he was one of countless MK Ultra (mind control) celebrity victims, and he was following a command to crash head first into a tree while skiing on a steep hill (for the purpose of taking himself out.)
