Dig this song! It's electric just as she is!! Finally got to she Alanis in concert in August! Waited a decade. She played tribute to T. Alot of people can't relate to her music or just don't like it. Well I guess they don't have TASTE! Alanis is a great talent & she is AWESOME. She sang this tune first, sporting blonde long hair + tee-shirt jeans & sneakers. How hip is that?!😉😊☮️✌️

I was in LA for a couple of days the week of the conclusion of the OJ trial. I was driving up the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when a girl in a summer dress pulled up beside me with the windows of her car down. This song was playing. True California moment. Kept hearing the song over the next couple of days. Strongest song on the album. She's from Ottawa. Me too. Killer Song.

Her music touches me so much now that I'm older. She really digs into the heart. God bless Alanis. She is beautiful inside and out. I just remember as a teenager being sad for her. I knew she had problems, but man she's a survivor. Life is a bitch. I would have loved her and Beck collaborating.

I remember the very day I listened to this song the first time. Alanis was not really known all over the world. I was on a beach drinking beers with a friend who exposed me to his amusement: "man, that is a very, very crazy song!". Back to 1994 or 95. I was a teen. He died three years ago...

Lyrics For This Song: “Do I stress you out? My sweater is on backwards and inside out And you say, how appropriate I don't like to dissect everything today I don't mean to pick you apart you see But I can't help it And there I go jumping before the gunshot has gone off Slap me with a splintered ruler And it would knock me to the floor if I wasn't there already If only I could hunt the hunter And all I really want is some patience A way to calm the angry voice And all I really want is deliverance, ah Do I wear you out? You must wonder why I'm relentless and all strung out I'm consumed by the chill of solitary I'm like Estella I like to reel it in and then spit it out I'm frustrated by your apathy And I am frightened by the corrupted ways of this land If only I could meet the maker And I am fascinated by the spiritual man I am humbled by his humble nature, yeah And what I wouldn't give to find a soul mate? Someone else to catch this drift And what I wouldn't give to meet a kindred? Ah Enough about me, let's talk about you for a minute Enough about you, let's talk about life for a while The conflicts, the craziness and the sound of pretenses is falling All around, all around Why are you so petrified of silence? Here can you handle this? Did you think about your bills, you ex, your deadlines Or when you think you're going to die? Or did you long for the next distraction? And all I need now is intellectual intercourse A soul to dig the hole much deeper And I have no concept of time other than it is flying If only I could kill the killer And all I really want is some peace man A place to find a common ground And all I really want is a wavelength, ah And all I really want is some comfort A way to get my hands untied And all I really want is some justice, ah It's all I really want, some patience A way to calm me down And all I really want is deliverance A place to find a common ground..”

Dude, literally EVERY generation says that. 😂 When this album came out, my parents’ generation thought it was an example of how our generation “doesn’t know good music”. When our parents were listening to legends like Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles, our grandparents were complaining about how our parents “didn’t know good music”. When our grandparents were listening to Jazz and Swing, our great grandparents… Well, you can see where I’m going with this… It’s such a lame game that we always play and always will. There’s actually more good music available today than ever before. The difference is that you have to find it yourself online instead of having it spoon fed to you by the radio and TV.

Alanis Morissette was only 20 years old when she co-authored “All I Really Want” (1995) with producer Glen Ballard. Ballard stated : “[Alanis] had this feral sound in her voice and it really communicated the lyrics. It was like a hunger for the right kind of connection. She was looking for justice and communication. Five months after we wrote this, she would emerge as ONE OF THE MOST CHARISMATIC AND POWERFUL WOMEN ON THE PLANET, but on this day in January of 1995, she was quite fragile and pale, and she’s never been more beautiful.” 💜🎶💚
