There doesn’t seem to currently be any power bank/usb-c to usb-c or usb-c to usb-a cables combinations that work to allow charging while you play on the Quest 2. No one on Reddit or elsewhere online has a solution yet. Hopefully this is something Oculus/ Facebook fixes in an update very soon. Regarding cabling, there's an Anker cable mentioned on the Oculus Link support page that's USBC to USB3 A. I saw a review mentioning it from Mike on VR Oasis (there's also an extender if you want to use it for Link, can get a 26ft total length combining them for cheaper than the official Link cable, which is USBC direct) and it does charge the headset, albeit slower than the official cable according to the review. I picked the cable and extender via Amazon and can get roughly 3 hrs play via Oculus Link with my Quest 2 using them. They have 3ft, 6ft, and 10ft options. You should be able to find it on Amazon by searching for Anker Powerline Oculus for the main cable and CableCreation Active USB extension for the extender if you wanted to have the extra length for Oculus Link use.

We're tweaking the design to make it fit nicer and print faster, but I'd hate to sell the original makers product without his permission. I'm using a power bank in my back pocket on the Oculus Quest 2, and I've noticed that it won't charge, but it will discharge exponentially slower. Where without, 1% is 1%, with the battery its more like 5% is 1%. So, just a bigger battery and place to power from, but not charge off of. It will charge when not playing off of the bank, however. But during play, it just 'expands' the size of your current battery, in a way.

How much are you willing to pay- with postage it would probably be same price as elite strap- do you still want it then? The creator would not make much money as they would have to buy a 3D printer farm or print only about 5 a week. 3D printing is poor on price for large quantites vs mass production- its only really good for prototyping where the price is less important than getting a test piece or for premium price items that individuals really want. Take a look at Shapeways prices.

Use an anchor usb A to usb C oculus cord. Idk if that’s the exact name but Ik they make them because I own one of them and it works flawlessly. It’s about 10 feet long I think

All the support that people are giving Facebook and the lack of competition preventing the company checking themselves ethically is actually scary

I put it in Cura and the head strap (only, exclude antennae, battery holder, and clip) will take about 260g of PLA and 1d 4hr of printing time. Tarantula Pro, 20% infill, 0.2mm layer height, 0.5mm brim, 50mm/s speed (could be faster), 235x235x250. Material itself cost about A$13. Electricity cost A$0.262026/kWh in Western Australia (Synergy). Let's say average 3d printer electricity consumption is about 50W/h. it will take 50W x 28hr : 1000 = 1.4kWh xA$0.262026 = A$0.3668364 (less than A$1). Total cost will be about A$14 per print. Exclude effort for cleaning up the support materials and finishing touch. The 3D model needs to be adjusted to 45deg angle (diagonally) so it will fit the printing bed. I will try to print it and see how it goes. Be back in few days.

I did it in one go! 28 hours! Despite of the support materials to clean up and some finishing jobs (sanding, painting, etc), it works!

@@vyatranto Did you try it on a quest 1 or quest 2? comments on thingiverse had people printing it and saying the angle of the connectors needed to be changed to fit the quest 2

If anyone wants to make the charging cable look sleek look up “usb c make to female elbow” something like that it’s a 90 degree elbow and it makes it feel way better.
