At Christmas time, I always make it a point to sit quietly for a few minutes and think about Mrs. Landingham missing her twin boys. ❤🩹

Thanks for a memory of a fictional woman who was killed in her new car decades after losing her fictional sons in a war. Now I'm weepy....seriously. But that's how I know I'm still alive.

@@rottingcorpse6002 I understand - but it's great storytelling all for that. Would you agree?

@@rottingcorpse6002 Was not my intention to resurrect the tragic death of Mrs. Landingham. I apologize. I am a Twin as well and lost my Best Pal a decade ago and our Birthday falls on December 5th, so I get the weepy part. Somehow we find a way to take another step! Stay Strong!👋

Great writing and great acting. Like so many....other parts of West Wing. My favorite is always remembering Josh meeting with the psychiartrist. More great writing and acting. (In the DVD overtalk, John Spencer breaks down and cries at the end of that episode because he won an Emmy for it and it was...great writing and great acting.) What is there not to love and remember about this show. Merry Christmas to all! (I live in Japan and so Christmas is difficult since it is only me and my Chinese wife and our daughter. But we try. Merry Christmas!!!)

One of the best scenes @3.01 is the three sisters with arms around each other! Real family love!

I bought the whole DVD set. I used to watch it every year, then parts....now, given the current situation I can stand little about politics. Brief cuts like this is all I can stand now.

I cry everytime with this scene. Really well done with the lead up.

Putting in this comment on route from Chennai to Mysore: The West Wing was one of my favorite shows when i was a volunteer in Poland, and i shared that connection with another friend from Italy, Alessandro aka Ale, the Ice Cream.

Unless I missed it, at 4:11, there wasn't a single Secret Service agent in sight. Not sure the POTUS would walk out that far without SS agents being somewhere close. Maybe the writers didn't want to spoil the moment of Grandpa & Grandson spending a moment alone.
@GreenLuthor2 күн бұрын
They're still on the White House lawn, so there's Secret Service agents all over the place. But the grandson thought earlier he was going to have some time with grandpa and was confused by all the other people around, so the agents were probably told to maintain a discreet distance to give them some semblance of privacy. Basically, we can assume they're there, but just out of sight. If something happened, though, they'd be there within three seconds.

God the Bartlet family dynamic is so awkward and cringe. You can tell they don’t like Doug and the two oldest daughters resent their father’s political career so much. Jed values family so much but I’ve never seen one so uncomfortable around each other.
@aph19762 күн бұрын
Well considering that Doug cheats on their daughter in a later season Jed and Abbey's dislike for him might have been warranted.
@aaronkelly41642 күн бұрын
@ 100%. That happens after this particular clip. Even before that though I’m sure they had instinctual reservations about him.

And Zoe is repeatedly shown to be a bumbling moron who thinks she can flirt her way out of anything, though she cannot.
@Dan2108712 күн бұрын
A) Show me a family without internal tensions and you'll be showing me poorly-written fiction. B) Doug is a weasel who married up with the sole intention of furthering his political career. That Jed and Abby dislike him only proves their instinct is spot-on.

And they didn't even know that their 3 girls were together, downstairs, listening to the carolers singing. Very engaged parents.
