THE VISION
Welcome to "Music from the Cabin". In this secluded cabin on the hill, I feel a profound connection, as if partnering with the God to create music that becomes a gift from Him. The peaceful sights and sounds serve as a canvas on which I write the melodies that come so often and so unencumbered.
These songs are more than a personal pursuit; they are a way to share the gift of tranquility and solace that I've received in this sacred space. In the stillness of the cabin, I find not only creative inspiration but also a connection to something greater, transforming the act of composition into a sacred dialogue.
Through this partnership with God, I hope the music touches your heart, and offers a glimpse of grace that flows from the Source of all inspiration and creativity.
THE PROCESS
It's about a five minute walk through the woods to the cabin. It sits on the side of a hill and overlooks a valley that has evergreen trees, oak trees, beech trees, and a stream running through all of it. I go there every week. At first I take a few moments to observe the beauty that surrounds me. Then I listen. Then I begin to create... to play a melody... to add some instruments.... and finally, to mix it all together. When it seems like it's done, then it's done. Music is a gift from God. I'm called to share my portion with you. I hope these songs speak to you. I hope you hear the words of God through them. I hope you quiet your mind and heart to listen… Jim
