This song is great so I thought I would drop some AllMight facts: Allmight’s power is actually considerably larger than any fight seen on screen thus far as the Manga has shown that some of his punches light the oxygen in the area on fire. That means his punches move at Mach 8 which is crazy. AllMight was originally meant to have people look at him and say “look, it’s captain Superman” as he combines their good will and justice personalities with superpowers. Most of the costume designs you see aren’t them trying to say “see look at all the costumes he’s had” they are Horikoshi forgetting how he drew it before.

He changed his world via force of will, via determination, via being the best a person can be. It’s why he is my favorite hero period, MHA, DC, Marvel, whatever.

I wouldn't say the show glosses over it, more that it shows it rather than tells it. OFA is a strong quirk, but All Might is much more than just that quirk. And, more than that, I have a theory about OFA. (spoiler ahead) Deku is the first wielder to have access to previous users quirks. I think the reason for this is that the spirits in OFA were biding their time until they felt the quirk was strong enough to defeat All For One. When All Might had it, they didn't think that they were ready to challenge AFO, so they kept that ability hidden, probably wanting to surprise AFO with it when they were ready. And then All Might, totally ignorant of this fact and using OFA in the most crude, basic, nerfed form possible, with neither a quirk of his own nor the previous users quirks, defeated All For One all on his own, TWICE. All Might is truly one of, if not the, most incredible heroes ever written. He climbed from being a quirkless nobody to a symbol that the entire world rallied behind, and even without his power, he still hasn't stopped.
