Rummynose tetras in the house tanks! I can't recall you working with them at all but maybe you have. They're a gorgeous fish and an actual schooling fish not just shoaling. Just stunning to see in a large school swimming through planted tanks. I personally always like to house them with some peacock gudgeons that will naturally pair off and breed in cave like structures when they're not prowling inside the lush plants. Really interesting duo that never disappoints.

planted tank rack? what about building a step down tank with3 or 4 chambers? tall plants down to foreground plants? - just a thought. For the basement tanks, I like the idea of Rainbow fish in one and apistogramma in the other. Hardy fish, with a lot of personality and super easy living conditions.

I think you can make it a contrasting style tanks in the basement. For example: one is very dark in its aura, like black substrait few darker plants, blackish rocks, darker wood and then very bright and popping out fish. and the other very light in its aura, like white substrait, very bright green plants, white rocks, and the darker fish that can disappear in the other tank. I think you got it

Hi Joey You can grow plants if you have a sort of Cryptocoryne put some root tabs in the gravel put the crypt near the root tab and wait.. be patient crypt melt is normal be patient the plant is going to make submerged leaves and try other sorts like the crypt flamingo. And 500 cardinal tetras in each tank in the basement would be absolutly phenomenal!! Have a happy new year and make all your wishes come true, with love from the netherlands 🙏🙏

Green neon tetra have a much nicer age more metallic blue to them than the standard neons. With the plants is not just crypts which are easy to keep. Java fern, Anubias, Buce are all happy being left alone and don't need substrate. Personally I like the jungle look so I'm heavy on various vallis

I'd get some amazon swords to mix with the crypts and some Java ferns and large anubius on the driftwood. Then do a mirrored scape maybe two triangler scapes that taper down from the center making it look like a island. While waiting for the goldfish get the plants growing in and established. Stocking I'd do a big group of tiger barbs, rummy noses, rosy barbs, corydoras, and/or Mt. Minnows in each tank for a pop of bright color and action against the black backdrop. At least that's what I would do. 😃
