I was an exchange student from Germany to the USA in 71/72. I went from 10th grade at the Gymnasium to Senior in the USA and than to 12th grade at the Gymnasium, so I did not loose any time (did take a hit on my grades though) and finished Abitur with my old classmates (13th grade) The most important thing in this year was the experience I gained, living in a different family with different habits in a different country with different habits speaking a different language certainly helps to grow up. If you ever have a chance like that, use it!

"aber in German it is..." - language mixing like this is what comes out if you study language intensively. It sounds funny, but indicates strong progress since it refers to thinking in the other idiom :)

Ich hab auch eine Freundin sie stammt ursprünglich aus New Orleans lebt seit 3 Jahren in Stralsund in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und sie spricht auch sehr gutes deutsch genau wie du Montana und ich finde diesen Akzent so cute...aber wenn ich versuche englische Lieder mit zu singen kriegt sie sich kaum ein vor Lachen weil mein englisch absolut mies is 😅
