Hey everyone! This is the first video in a two part rig overview series. Part 2 focusing on the software I use for recording will be coming shortly! Originally had them together in this one video, but it got way too long. What is your own favorite piece of gear that you use? :)

I never won a guitar in my life. I had a fender strat from reynosa and a sears black strat. I told my mom to get me a black sears V and she didnt get it for me at age 11 or 12. I never felt like playing acoustic until I saw Jeff Young from Megadeth play one. I still have Shakira's Takamine from Mexico City. I had a bass from Fender but my dad sold it. I use a marshall amp. I changed to Joyo Pedals because of you Rachelf.

Good Morning : Wanted to say. After having my Bass now since last Friday and I have played it to death. I have a whole new respect for you. You have practiced a lot to get as good as your are now. I have learned a lot this almost week now and if I keep it up. In a year I should be playing some pretty awesome licks but for sure going to take time but the good part is. When I played years ago. I never loved it but this time. I think about it all the time and really look forward to getting it out and playing but right now. My fingers are really sore. So will have to be patient. That's it. Have a great day. Your a really Great Guitar Player. :)

Just got into guitar about a month ago, maybe? That myth people tell themselves about, "I'll only buy one?" Yeah, -that's- a lie. Started with an Epiphone SG Pro 400G. Got an Ibanez electro-accoustic after that. Then I got by biggie, a Fender Stratocaster American Professional, which is just godlike. Going to easily say that's my favourite guitar, easily. I like the SG, but they're entirely different creatures with different use cases, honestly. I've just switched from playing bass left-handed but strung righty (upside down) for 30 years. I switched for many benefits, but the deciding factor was wanting to take up guitar and not having to straddle two worlds. Just as well, as in the first week, after playing fully lefty, -everything- felt backwards (reading, typing, walking) after practising. That's faded, blessedly. I have a Schecter Stiletto Extreme 5 five-string. Currently running everything through my Peavey Max 112 MkII bass amp, tuned to neutral. For FX, I'm running BOSS GT-1 and GT-1B, currently. I'm currently saving for a Kemper PowerHead Profiling Amp and a Tech 21 powered speaker for guitars and bass (which should stop the bass amp colouring). Thanks for running down your gear! (And do you ever -not- smile? You must just really, really love music, because you always seem jazzed. I envy you the consistent enthusiasm and happiness. Not that I'm not happy...you just take it to a whole other level. It's nice though!) Also, thanks for proving that we can all start at the level you did and work up to where you are. That's been hugely inspirational to me, so thanks!

I own and love my Ibanez RGAT62-SBF. Beautiful to look and and great to play. Just want to pick it up and play it all the time. It was my first upgrade from the Squier Affinity Strat I started on. I play thru a Boss Katana Head which is great for recording/headphone use but when I want to make a racket I plug it into my Orange PPC112 cab (in black 'cos my wife didn't want an orange speaker cab in the living room). I'm feeling the urge to get another guitar, possibly with a FR, or maybe a LP shape. So many options to chose from. Will enjoy trying all the candidates out in the shop though. I really like the Ibanez thin neck though so I expect I'll end up with another Ibanez.

My collection is mainly Strats. I've a Squier Pro-Tone, and American Special Deluxe, a partscaster, and several others. But my favorite is a Japanese FSR from 2018, in Inca Silver with a pink racing stripe. Her clean tone is glassy and mellow, and she is very responsive to my right-hand technique. Her neck is perfect, better than any other I own. My amp is a Yamaha Fifty115B bass amp. I love that thing. My pedals are a mostly EHX--Holy Grail, Canyon Echo, and Soul Food; but my absolute >sine qua non< is my Danelectro Cool Cat chorus pedal. No matter what I play, the Cool Cat is always on.

You should get yourself a Digitech Whammy DT pedal. That way, you can hit higher or lower tunings without adjusting string tension. Of course the amp will have to be louder than the guitar itself, or you’ll hear both tunings.

Hey Rachel! I've been watching your videos for a number of years. Your practicing has reaped you many rewards. Good for you! A couple of questions if I may. Is the Floyd Rose on the 2nd Ibanez guitar a licensed product or is it an original FR? Secondly, are you in a band? You sound amazing and any band would be fortunate to have you as their guitarist. Hey Rachel...thanks for sharing your gear with us...take care.
