Rachelf you need a video part 3 with a sample track with all instruments. Pretty cool software. No wonder musicians these days advance so quickly.
@yosserhughes91005 жыл бұрын
@john Jeffreys "Pretty cool software" for sure john. But it doesn't actually play the instrument for her! Indeed, there are great sounds and backing tracks that can help. But there is no substitute for actually practicing and playing to 'understand'. What the fingers don't know, they don't know, (until they do know, at least). It's an obvious point, I know! Being well practiced though is apparent with Rachelf's understanding of muscianship. Her video presentation's too, are excellent. And how Rachelf makes her music has been recorded in these 'bonus' videos. Now that's "quick advancement", for those it may concern!

Hi Rachel! Most often, I use 3 VST's: Guitar Rig 5 (main), Peavey ReValver, and BIAS FX2. I also mess around with a lot of the free VST's out there like the LePou amp sims, Ignite Amps' Emissary, NickCrowLab's amp sims, Vadim Taranov's amp sims, Kuassa, and other stuff I find. I like to have a variety of things to mess with. I use Reaper 64-bit to put all of them through and record all my covers live with OBS as I'm playing them. No editing and a varying number of takes!

Nice rundown! I spent years using Overloud's TH-2/3/U series. Recently, an acquaintance turned me on to Blue Cat Audio's Axiom, and it's so much easier to get good tones out of it than TH-x, or Guitar Rig. I love Axiom. I actually suggest getting the Axe Pack, as you get the full plugin versions of Late Replies (one of the best delays I've ever seen), Destructor (distortion), etc. Also, they include Re-Guitar, which lets you change from one guitar configuration to another (say, certain pickup configuration to others). It's reasonably priced kit, and it's quality. You can't go wrong checking it out!

Oh girl! Ive struggeled for 18 hours with reaper and had to go and learn on audacity. Ill still buy reaper. Im new to the daw. Ive worked most of my career in live sound and very little recording experience. But even when I got my first electric I was fascinated by the way engineers made things sound. I couldnt afford audio equipment so I did lighting and electrical tradeschool to finance me music.
@askart85765 жыл бұрын
I was using FL. But later I found Reaper. It looks like complicated but after you realize the general layout, you get used to it. I would buy it. 60 dollar equals 360 lira in Turkey but it's still reasonable price.
@RachelfGuitar5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you'll get it! It definitely can be intimidating at first. One thing to note is that while there are tons of features, it's likely you'll only really need a few to get started recording (creating new tracks, recording on them, adjusting volumes, and applying effects). I don't use many other features than that so far myself! Best of luck!

I know you've mentioned Guitar Pro in the past, but what website do you use to get the gp3 files? Question: I want to record the input of the guitar + the output of yousician (apparently it switches to ASIO and with my Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen this is not possible to do). What would be the best way to do this? ASIO4ALL is a huge waste of time (already spend multiple days on it and I've never had so many blue screens ever). In your BiasFX it says 2in 2out, is that through the THR or were you using another external audio device?

@etyramone20004 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rachel for this rig rundown! Now that you got more experience with daily practice and also recording. Would you recommand the THR-10 over an usb interface or would you know directly switch to an usb interface if you already had some kind of little practice amp? Can't decide between both solutions but maybe is an usb interface easier to use for recording than the THR10... Thanks for you help and the videos you made to help other players !

I have a PC I put together a while back! As far as screen size, bigger is usually better to have more space to see things when editing but I don't have any specific recommendations and really anything will work. I'm planning on getting a much larger screen soon myself to make video editing easier :)

@@RachelfGuitar Thanks for the timely reply. OMG, you put together your own PC! So you're not only musically talented but technically talented as well! I think if I wasn't so enamored of your talent I'd actually be jealous :-). Don't recall how I stumbled across your channel but happy I did. I'm trying to get back into playing after many years away b/c of several medical set-backs & you documenting your advancement month by month gives me hope. So many heavy metal guys (and a few gals) come across as brooding, drugged out (?) refugees from some sort of cliche'd goth/emo hard rock concert from hell, where there's too much jewelry and teased hair and every other word out of someone's mouth is " kinda like this" and "man, like you know, whatever" .... but you're positively preternaturally normal by comparison! And while I know some people say your perpetual smile is a bit "creepy", I find it refreshingly nice to see someone so wholesome rocking away. @RachelfGuitar5 жыл бұрын
A little bit, but it isn't that noticeable. However, I will often actually listen to the guitar tone coming directly from my modeling amp while recording and apply the effect to the raw track after. So I don't often actually listen to Bias FX live while recording, but not for any real reason and you definitely could!

@RachelfGuitar5 жыл бұрын
Which software are you having an issue with? If it is a VST/I (like Bias or EzDrummer) you'll probably need to access it through a DAW like Reaper unless it has standalone functionality. And to get that to work you'll need to put the VST files into a VSTPlugins directory that your DAW looks at for its plugins. Should be able to find that location under preferences somewhere in the program hopefully!

i wish she would do some acoustic videos. i love my electrics but the love i have for my Washburn acoustic is like no other. especially because of all the upgrades ive done myself the guitar feels so very personal. it also sounds amazing with bone saddle/nut (spent hours sanding them to fit just right), solid brass pins, and gold plated tuners. its a 250$ guitar but sounds like a 500$+ guitar in my opinion. i actually think playing electric is "easier" than acoustic in some ways... in a weird way. not sure if you know what i mean.
