I love the sweater you're wearing! I never thought to do a double layer rollneck and it looks great.

Thank you! It’s the Jelly Roll sweater and such a fun and comfy knit. I’m planning on knitting myself another. 🧶

I can highly recommend the Vertices from Stephen. It is also modular and I love the size! I wore it with my coat every day for two winters now ...

Yes, the modular patterns are so fun! I might be the only person who hasn’t knit a Vertices Unite yet, but maybe one day…?

Your shawls are lovely thanks for sharing. Keep the kids' shawls for when they grow up they surely will appreciate your work and all the love you put in them. Hi from El Salvador Central America.

Thank you! Yes, I’ll definitely keep the shawls and hope that the kids grow into them. 😂 But they’ll always hold memories for me, either way. Hi from Germany and happy making!

What a wonderful overview of Stephen West Shawls. I am making the Botanic Shawl at the moment and watching the mystery knit along for 2023 develop. I'm wondering if you are going to give it a try. Thanks for a great episode!

Thank you! I am not going to join the mkal because I haven’t always loved the designs but I think I’ll show my second Marled Magic shawl wip some love during the time. So that previous mkal pattern would be my entry for the kal 😉 Happy knitting!

Thank you for the lovely episode! I have two favourite shawl patterns and both happen to be by Mr West. 😄 My absolute favourite is Vertices Unite and second favourite is Botanic Shawl. ❤

I'm obsessed with Natasja Hornby's shawls (Moonstruck Knits). I made the Anthe this year and I plan to make either the Yara or another one next. They're very intricate but pretty easy - lots of mosaic knitting and textured stitch patterns. I haven't tried a Stephen West shawl yet, but I'm sure I will at some point. I might just jump in and do the MKAL this year.

Thank you , I’ll check out the patterns you mention! I’ve never been brave enough for the MKAL but you’ll be in for a very fun ride, I’m sure!

Thank you for such a nice episode! It's not hard to guess who's mine favourite shawl designer too :) I made lots and lots of Stephen's shawls, i am currently knitting (also while watching this episode) his Aurora Cabin Shawl, but my most favourite one is Vertices Unites :)

Wow, the Aurora Cabin is stunning! Happy knitting 💜

As soon as you said the kids wanted a shawl each, I knew they'd never wear them 😂 They're so fickle at that age But as they grow they'll come to understand and appreciate the love that went into them ❤

You’re right, it was clear right there and then. 😂 I’ll store the shawls until the kids will be able to appreciate them. They were so fun to knit!

Quick question: Do his stash buster projects require yarns of a single yarn weight or are the patterns written to take into account the different gauges and properties of different yard weights. Thanks in advance!
@plottwistpodcast9937 Жыл бұрын
As I recall them, they’re written for a single yarn weight, but he always encourages knitters to mix weights and qualities, also for his sweater patterns. The Bubble Cowl specifically requires different yarn weights, though. I hope that helps! Happy stash knitting!
