I'm personally a huge fan of aquatic ancestries and felt a little cold on Azarketi so I'm really excited for both the merfolk and Athamaru. On a related note I had a new game start about a month ago going through the season of ghosts adventure path and one of the players wanted to play "An insect man who fights using swarms of bugs they keep inside their body" but changed character ideas when they couldn't find anything to represent that in 2e, just kind funny. Lastly not to be the stereotype of a Pathfinder player but trying to play through Abomination vaults in 5e sounds miserable.

I have a dm who is gonna let me play a witches familiar cat, who is looking for his master. So he's kinda an awakened animal? So I'm looking forward to seeing how it works.

Sounds like a fun character concept. What class? Until Howl of the Wild comes out, you could maybe make do with Poppet? That lets you be a tiny creature.

I think it would be fun to be an investigator with all the knowledge skills have have him be a well traveled world wise kind of guy. Mentoring the party, not sure how I'm going to deal the damage though... Still planing it out. Now if starfinders playtest envoy comes out before it starts... Might go for that?? Not sure

But long story short I'd like to be a non damage dealer that can be a full support to the party without using magic... As while the witch familar is magical, they're a glorified spellbook and can't cast spells without the witch. I'm doing research on how to best pull it off but I think I may just end up being an investigator anyway... It fits with him trying to track down his witch friend with the pursue a lead ability.

There is an archetype for ware-creatures (presumably ware-wolves included). Plus there already is the beast-kin for wolves and the Kholo (Gnolls) who are Hyena-people which is . . . pretty close.)

Huh . . . If they don't . . . I . . . suppose you could start off as a merfolk with custom mixed heritage Kitsune, then pick up the kitsune ancestry feat that turns you into a human? I'm not sure how that would interact with your swim/land speeds. Something to think about.

With the wood plane added in Rage of Elements they may feel plants were covered enough, especially in a primal context. Though I could imagine an alchemy focused book with potions, poisons, diseases, and plant-based crafting (including some Ekujae woodwarping), hazards, and planar differences, with plenty of plant and fungus creatures (and maybe oozes). I don't think they'll do a book like that but it's fun to imagine a book with plants centre stage instead of tacked on.

Surki and Athamaru all the way. I don't dislike the awakened animals, but given that you can just make anthropomorphic demi-human ancestries I enjoy the additional cultural context for playing one of those characters. Most character concepts for awakened animals I've seen on forums so far have been memes and pop culture references.

Nothing wrong with a meme character if done right. My first pathfinder 2e character was based on a meme (Diggy Diggy hole) and most people don’t even recognize it’s a meme.

Ok, having checked out that link in the description, I can confirm that it is the same stream I saw 3 weeks ago. It looks like Paizo only posted it to KZbin 10 days ago, though. The stream originally happened live on Twitch and I did not realize they posted to KZbin so much later, which is why I was confused about a 'newer' stream rehashing what they did before in the first week of April.

I wouldn’t sweat it. It was still nice to see your video. Twitch has gotten more difficult to navigate in recent years. I’m just oddly happy I’m not the only one have trouble with it. It actually took me a half hour just to get to the Paizo page on Twitch for their Tian Xia stream just because it had been a while since I caught one of their streams live and Twitch had changed things since the last time I watched anything on it and I find Twitch much harder to navigate now.

Is there any info on the Centaur race anywhere? Some playtest or anythink i have player who seperatly whants o play one in few days and i dont whnat to reskin other ancestry for her first game just so i have to change some stuff later.

There is one feat that has been revealed for them, and it is heavily implied they will be large sized.

I’ve heard rumors they are large sizes. The upcoming Tien Xia book has a water-buffalo ancestry that looks to be medium sized though.
