Cable is way better for a 250.. tbh on my Yamaha the cable feels better than the kawi and ktm hydraulic

It's not a 125 but yer still slipping' the clutch on a 250f.....especially a Honda so cable catches can be an advantage at times with heavy clutch abuse

Only problem with Hondas is the overheating. My buddy has a 2020 CRF450R that was overheating after 20 minutes of riding out at the sand dunes (he had an 8 paddle on it). We called in and the honda mechanic said that they're really only meant for 30 mins on a race track with lots of air flow. If you're looking for a dunes bike, be warned.

The 450’s over heat easy, not sure if the 250 will over heat that way. Or at all . Sand dune riding will over heat a 2 stroke too.

These upgrades look great! Im happy honda is finally working towards the weight range of ktm. But no hydraulic clutch is slightly disappointing. They put it on the 450, why not the 250 as well?

The 2022 CRF250R cable clutch is up to 9 discs (from 8), with a more-rigid basket & optimized lubrication. Clutch endurance is up 21%, level pull is down 4%.

Honda should Swap the motor in this bike for the CRF250F motor so we can have a CARB approved air cooler high performance chassis for the single track, mountain trails, etc… basically all the public land that the race bikes have been and continue to get kicked off of do to more stringent emissions, sound, and spark arrester regulations…

@@justonpreble3119 Although that would be a nice idea for a new bike, that shouldn’t replace the race bike or current trail bike. Nobody would put up the extra $3000 a race bike requires for the same engine as a trail/beginner bike, and most ppl buying a crf250f aren’t doing the kinds of things that require a crf250r body so they wouldn’t pay a premium for it. I personally think Honda has it pretty well figured out, but I see where you’re coming from. These regulations are getting insane.

@@peterparker1724 I agree my idea shouldn’t replace the race bike engine but simply let us order the CRF250RX with the CRF250F air cooled engine which last for ever, is way more fuel efficient, qualifies for CARB to ride legally everywhere, and is much quieter. It’s crazy to me that all I see on the single track I ride on in the mountains is KTMs Husqvarna, etc all high end race bikes… why? Because they are lighter, and have better suspention… they are no fast than me on the single track… they have to carry extra gas when I still have plenty of fuel left over at the end of our rides…

I ride all the latest enduro bikes from other brands. The CRF250X is still better overall. They just need to put a Wide ratio box in the RX and get the engine design a bit better. Or just bring out another 250X :-) RIP Honda of 2008.

Everything about this bike is beautiful! Although the only things I foresee is that a press-fit cam gear and dual spring intake valves becoming a real learning curve for mechanics. I suppose Time will tell. But bravo Honda!

Wish my CR80R had a 99% lighter clutch pull 😂😂. No joke its like using 1 of those Workout Forearm Squeeze Things. Takes like atleast 70-80lbs to pull. I hardly use it unless i have too. Im always clutchless shifting. Lever gives finger bone bruises.

Battery companies will be to busy selling every battery they can make to the automotive market... there wont be enough batteries for motor sports for a long time... plus how do you charge a battery in the middle of a forest? Gas takes 15 seconds to pour into a tank for another half day of riding. And I carry a liter of back up fuel in my back pack incase someone I'm riding with need more fuel.
