@@diesel7903 Quite. Typically the load pushes over the headboard of the trailer and comes crashing through the back of the cab, in any significant impact. Steel coils are notorious for it, and steel pipe has been known to pass directly through the cab and out the front. I saw a crash just today where one semi went up the back of another. There wasn't much left of the cab of the semi that did the hitting.

because of momentum and inertia my loaded and heavy duty oilfield tanker trailer , would just keep on shoving that Volvo further and further into that test barrier I’d like to see a / that real world test and carnage it would do , pretty much to any truck especially in a head on collision with another fully loaded semi well I actually I seen way too many in almost 40 years of commercially driving and usually carnage is what’s left no electronics and safety gizmos can replace a seasoned and experienced driver , which will prevent questionable driving situations in the first place , and / or pull over and shut down before weather gets to bad and in a head on collision in a semi , well , we all have an expiration date a new Volvo fully loaded might give you a smidgen of a chance , maybe , maybe not

As he said, he returned a long time ago, the European cabover is safer, you can even see in the video how in the frontal crash the front mechanics ends up entering the cabin. The good thing about the eurpoes is that they have a "safety cage" they had another name that I don't remember right now, but it is the same, which separates the upper part of the cabin from the chassis, causing all the impact to be taken by the part. lower, not to mention that the FH's cabin is stronger.

Because the results would be a lot more damning with a load. Looks a lot more impressive, and easier to get through regulations, without the load. It's not a requirement after all to test with a trailer.

unrealistic test. just with 50 km/h normal speed on the Autobahn is between 80-100km/h. everytime the same problem with the tests....

In EU trucks have mandatory AEB now, to reduce a possible impact to a lower speed or to avoid it if possible. If you crash into something with 80 kph with a trailer behind the truck there is no chance to survive

it is not often that a truck crashes at full speed, there is in most cases some braking action before hand that reduces speed, not to mention most accidents if they are going to happen, they happen on conventional two-way roads at lower mandated speeds and not on Autobahn and such like, given Autobahn\Motorway and other dual carriageway with central dividers between opposing lanes are have lower accident rates than other forms for road, by any form of measure, taking Europe as a whole.

Put a full trailer on the back, put an engine in the front and make sure all gas tanks are full and try this test again and see what results you get.

Warum nur Zugmaschine und wird nicht ein vollbeladener Lkw getestet.? Zugmaschine mit Trailer und 22 to. Zuladung bei (irrsinnige und sinnlose raserei mit bis zu 85 mph > 138 km/h und das mit einer vollbeladener Lkw) Dann das Ergebnis nochmal zeigen. Ihr werdet selbst überrascht sein was aus eurem Volvo geworden ist. Da wird nicht viel davon bleiben. Und was mich auch sehr wundert und sehr unverantwortlich ist, daß in USA Lkw's (Trucks) gleich schnell fahren wie andere Klein Fahrzeuge nämlich bis zu 85 mph, bei den Anzahl an ● Unprofessionellen ● Unverantwortlichen ● Unerfahrenen Fahrern. Wenn die bei uns in Germany den LKW Führerschein machen würden, (was bis zu 6 Monate dauern kann.!!) vorausgesetzt der Führerschein Anwärter besteht die Schriftliche und Mündliche Prüfung gleich beim 1.mal. Dann könnte sich der eine oder andere gleich als Triebwerk Ingenieur bewerben. Denn dann hätte Er/Sie genug Technisches wissen nämlich. Und nebenbei; ich wollte meinen Deutschen Führerschein (mit allen Klassen, gleichwertig wie der >US CDL-A< incl Bus) in den USA umschreiben lassen bzw. neu machen. Als die Mitarbeiterin mir einen DIN-A4 Fragebogen in die Hand drückte und sagte, wenn ich damit fertig bin, dann solle ich mich bei ihr am Schalter nochmal melden, so daß ich anschließend Foto für den Führerschein machen kann, danach würde ca 20 Min. dauern, dann könnte ich meinen Führerschein bei der Ausgabe abholen. Ich habe es belassen weil; ● kein Person Testet ob man Charakterlich dazu geeignet ist, ● kein Person testet, ob man überhaupt ein Fahrzeug fahren kann ● keiner weiß, ob man eventuell Alkohol oder Drogen abhängig ist. Und so wird einem Führerschein ausgestellt, als wäre es Weichnachskuchen. Und das ganze kostet nur $25. Dafür bekommt man nichtmal Schuhe bei Walmart oder sonst wo.
