Great video as usual guys. I love the new design except for the light colored cloth on the dash and doors. It seems to be a trend in the industry right now which is a shame because everybody knows Dashes get covered in dust within a few days of driving and being light cloth It will look terrible after a couple years since cloth stains and it can’t be simply wiped off with a wet rag like plastics. I know hard plastic isn’t the most luxurious but I’d mulch rather have clean plastic than dingy cloth.

Of course if someone has bad luck with their Mini then they might think that all Minis are unreliable. Everyone can only speak for themselves. I had a 2015 Cooper S for six years. Plenty of time for any number of bad things to happen. None did. Plus I was incurring some extra wear and tear doing six track days a year. I’ve had Porsche Cayman drivers tell me they had to work to catch me on the track. I am impressed with Mini. So much so that I didn’t think twice about trading the 2015 in for a 2024 Cooper S. Make no mistake though, it’s not a car for everybody. I don’t think it would work as my only car. The suspension might be too firm to take a long trip in it.

I love the mini, but it is such a terrible let down that the manual transmission is gone. For a small, sporty car with a "go-cart" reputation, having no manual anymore really takes the shine out of an otherwise great car. Looks like the used market will be the way to go, or a new miata...

Hello - to the Motormouth couple. I've just watched (and liked 👍🏼) your review of the F66 MINI Cooper S… after driving 80 miles in my F66 Cooper C (which has the 1.5 litre / 3-cylinder engine in Europe). A couple of quick points; - re: the response speed of the (Operating System 9) infotainment system on your test car… this didn't look particularly slow on your video - but it might've needed an OTA update. Did you check this? The current version is 03/2024.52… but there is an update coming (which OS9 equipped BMWs are getting first). My car doesn't have any noticeable lag… but changing between the 'Experience' modes does take a few seconds because, for example, the sunroof might be closed as part of this process. Unlike some F66 early-adopters, I've had zero glitches with the infotainment system… and my car is a total delight to drive. - re: the date when the J01 MINI Cooper E & SE models will reach Canada and the US… BMW/MINI has announced that this won't be until production moves from China (currently) to the Oxford plant - which is due to happen in 2026. So, the best guess is that you won't see these models until 2027. BTW: I took the Oxford plant tour during the week my car that my car was scheduled to be finished… and I missed seeing it in the final assembly area by less than 2 hours! During my tour, we were driven past a massive construction site… which is where the new production facility for the electric models is being built. - one final point, re: the lack of a manual gearbox… I've previously owned several manual MINIs - including an F56. It's very subjective, of course, but I think the 7-speed DCT is so good - I just can't see any benefit at all in having a manual gearbox. Over here, the Sport model includes the 'Sport transmission' with paddle-shifters - but I don't think that's the same for North America. I like the format of your reviews - and I'll definitely watch some more.

Did you guys talk about the new seat design and the power function. Before this model all mini seats were always manual even on the top end S models both two door and four doors.
