The impressive 2025 Toyota 4Runner Trail Hunter, TRD Pro and 4Runner Limited are finally here! For over four decades the Toyota 4Runner is all about adventure and tough terrain. Seven trim levels - SR5, TRD Sport, Limited grades, TRD Pro, TRD Off-Road, Trail Hunter, and Platinum.
4Runner has two engine choices - turbocharged 2.4 liter four-cylinder powertrains including the i-FORCE engine with 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain is available on TRD Off-Road and Limited standard on the TRD Pro, Trailhunter and Platinum models.
The more powerful turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with a 48-hp electric motor integrated into the eight-speed transmission, 1.87-kWh NiMH battery pack that creates a total system output of up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.
The body on frame design - for true off roading with new off road components. The all-new Trailhunter is built for overlanding available with the latest integrated off-road equipment from ARB, Old Man Emu and RIGID Industries. The TRD PRO use Fox Shocks and suspension. They ride on 33” Toyo A/T tires on Trail Hunter.

I think they nailed the looks inside and out. I like to see some of the cheaper trims. After all, they sell more SR5 and TRD sport and offroads than any other trims. That engine area sure is messy though.

I love everything about it except the Turbo! Can we please get a naturally aspirated motor, PLEASE!!! Good Lord, not everyone wants a turbo.

Similar to 2002 trailblazer when it came out, I bought one new, 22 years later and 560,000 miles ,Chevy didn’t think it was the answer, shape a car like it and overprice it and call it the traverse, Bravo Toyota..

On the 5th gen limited my biggest complaint was 3rd row air conditioning outlets, none available. i watched many 6th gen reviews so far and i don't see them being added, here in Florida we need more air conditioning for the 3rd row seating.

I like the Trailhunter and TRD Pro. I like the idea of more horsepower and torque. I like the new rugged design. However I wished Toyota made turbo 4 cylinder standard and V6 optional, similar to how the Tacoma used 4 cylinder standard and V6 optional. Forced induction (which the turbo is) puts strain or stress on the engine internals; opposed to naturally aspirated, which the V6 was. Maybe Toyota has figured to beef up the internals, while saving on fuel, but I'm skeptical. Hopefully Toyota goes back to naturally aspirated.

Yes, it's the only Cruiser we have right now in North America. In other markets it's sold as the LC 250/Prado. Basically it's a content variation clone of the Lexus GX.

Sure the first year will have some teething problems but that’s a common thread amongst any other manufacture in a new model the first year

don’t like the exterior design at all. Looks like tacoma, rav4, and sequoia had a baby. looks like it had a dent damage to the side rears. prefer classic designs with smooth lines and curves like the old land cruiser. this seems like a lost identity and it will phase out eventually with land cruiser price inching closer to price of 4 runner. keeping my beautiful and reliable 5 gen for good.
