ALL NEW 73-79 Dentside Ford Truck Body Mounts!

In this episode, Aaron installs “Vintage Truck and 4x4’s” all new Dentside Ford truck body mount kit. This is a new product to ensure all 73-79 Ford trucks are able to be fully restored with a superior performing body mount. Installation includes the front, middle, and the rear body mounts. Due to the very precise fitment, it is rec to paint the product then remove the paint where the body mounts meet. This is a must upgrade for any worn-out body mounts!

So i guess i should get rid of the body mounts that i got from lmc huh? Are vintage trucks better than LMC's?

@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sk There is nothing wrong with LMCs mounts, this is just another option. I believe LMC is on back order with those parts right now, but no I wouldn't change them out if they are already installed.

@@DentsideDepot oh ok. I bought them back around 2015 but ive only used the core support ones so far. The front 2 were pretty rusty.

@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sk If you already have some I would just go with what you have, no reason to purchase another set. Both are good mounts and I have the LMC ones in a couple trucks as well.

I've waited a while for this video, Thanks! How about sending the mounting hardware out for Galvanizing? My mount frame brackets were rusted out so I got some heavy duty Hendrickson suspension washers and welded them to the brackets. Then painted them with Rust-Oleum and top coated with undercoating. Hopefully it's kept out the salt here in Minnesota. Again Great video Thanks.

Yes Sir me too! Yea that or cad coating would also be good for sure. I needed a quick turn on the install here but if you have time that would be advisable for longer life.

I have a Chevy truck (‘73 K20). I can’t figure out why I watch your videos, except maybe I always liked the ford trucks(70-96).

I honestly like all the classic American trucks, it just so happens I like these ones best. Would have no issue driving an square body around with an LS in it thats for sure!

The only way to do a quality build is to have an enclosed shop. I have several projects I cannot do until I move from the suburbs.

It is tough not having a facility. When I started out the shop you see here was a concrete pad outside that was falling apart, and I worked outside all year long on these trucks.

At least they were still there. The back body mounts on my 2005 F-250 when I bought it were literally gone because they rotted out so bad. Metal on metal, sounded great over bumps!

I'd wrap some tape around the ratchet so you dont chip the paint. .

Yeah, you ain't lying about those mounts always being rusted here on the east coast! Lol! The rust almost "vulcanizes" itself to the rubber, and rarely come apart without heat, hammers, and foul language! 😆 Especially those two mounts at the base of the radiator core support! 🤦‍♀️ They're always the worst! 😒

When you said, you measured it side to side and front to back. How did you measure it front to back?

frame to cab all around to seems that "should" be square from the factory, then eyeball sanity check and making sure the mount holes lineup. All 4 will probably not be perfectly, 3/4 were almost dead on right rear was off by a smidge

The last one I did the frame was so pock-marked and rusted on the front two frame horns underneath the core support that I ended up having to weld in the "repair washer" over the existing part of the frame that the mount bolts to. And like I was saying in a previous comment..... It seems that the front two mounts get rusted out the worst! 🤦‍♀️😒

Hey man! Love the videos! I'm building my first truck with my dad, a 1979 F-150 Ranger XLT 4X4. Full frame off resto show truck. I am looking for a few little pieces that my local dentside heaven junkyard doesn't have. I am looking for a nice set of the woodgrain XLT door panel inserts, I saw you had some in a yt short. A factory under hood light. I'm sure you wont have this, but the Lariat headliner with buttons. My seat has the buttons and would love the headliner. I think that's it. Do you have any of these you would sell? Thank you man! If you need anything special let me know and I can search my dentside heaven junkyard!

Hi Myles, I do in fact have multiples of all those parts, but unfortunately I need them for future projects. I have 3 Ranger XLTs and two Lariats that are being restored here over the next couple years. Really cool to hear you working with your pops. For sure value that time, I will never be able to do that again and thought I had all the time in the world.
