Finally, a nice traditional shifter... Good job Honda.. I just love to shift with a traditional shifter.. Why couldn't Honda put a traditional shifter in the Pilot and Passport - instead of the push button shifter???
@EvanLam25 күн бұрын
Not necessarily saying there's a technical reason for it because I honestly don't know, but its linked to the transmission (at least for all current models). So the Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport, and Odyssey, along with the TLX, RDX, and MDX in the Acura lineup, all use the 9 speed or 10 speed automatic and have the button shifter. The Civic, Accord, HRV and CRV all have CVTs. If you look at previous generation vehicles, this holds true as well so the in the accord for example, the 1.5T with the CVT had a traditional shifter while the 2.0T with the 10 speed had the button shifter. The hybrids are a bit weirder: the previous generation of hybrids (Insight, Accord, and CR-V) used the button shifters while the current generation of hybrids (Accord, Civic, and CR-V) use a traditional shifter.

@@pcthayer If Trump goes ahead with the 25% tariff on vehicles built in Mexico and Canada, they will be very expensive for Americans to buy. Vehicles made in the US will be less money to purchase so maybe Americans will have to look at US built vehicles in the near future. So vehicles like the RAV4 hybrid made in Canada will sit on lots at US Toyota dealerships. If that happens less will be shipped there as inventory sits. It actually could mean that Canada will get more inventory of the RAV4 hybrid instead. Right now that vehicle has a 1-2 year wait time in our country. Then where does Trump stop, does he put tariffs on vehicles made elsewhere like South Korea and Japan as well, not just stop at Mexico, China and Canada.
