Paul, I, too, had the same issue on a mobile with the problem overlapping and therefore drag and drop is not usable at present. I also mentioned this to Adobe and a dialogue ensued, finishing with encouraging comments that the engineering team would resolve this buggy problem in an upcoming release.

I also have issues with the drag and drop not presenting (in desktop) as it appears in the workspace. The workspace shows the landing areas lined up nicely and spaced correctly, but the preview forces the final two boxes way to the right, causing learners to have to scroll to find the landing spots@@CaptivateTeacher any word on if Adobe will correct this bug in the March 27th update?

Hey, Paul: I love your videos! I"m continuing to explore Captivate 12.0 and 12.1 while relying on 11.x for my projects. I am very pleased that you are helping us navigate features of 12.x and that you're giving Adobe feedback as they resolve some of the "bugs" in the program. I have been a very loyal defender of Captivate and will continue to use both 11.x and 12.x with MacOS, as I've done since Captivate 8.

There are many Articulate 360 users out there but the price and flexibility of Captivate keeps me coming back as well.

Problem: only images as draggable object (source) It does not allow SVG source images, i.e. not scalable sources, which is a deal breaker for several of my projects. Problem: maximum 6 source and 6 target objects. Several of my Classic projects require more than a dozen source/targets. Problem: only two drop shapes?, circle and square; not even rectangles, ellipses or other shapes. Many of my Classic projects absolutely require custom sized rectangle drop targets. I cannot use mouse to draw and configure the drag and drop links I cannot graphically show drag and drop links I cannot use use mouse to configure multiple sources to targets I do not see any way to draw irregular shaped objects. Importing an SVG as a hot spot brings in a graphic that cannot be scaled and looks crude. There are too many features which are missing in the All New Captivate. I am just beginning to explore it and am discovering limitations everywhere, compared to Classic. The user interface is better than Classic but the functionality behind that pretty face is quite deficient.

You should communicate these concerns to Adobe. I agree with you especially with drag and drop. I almost called this video drag and drop fail.

I recently made just a text only drag-and-drop, similar to what you displayed here. However, when learners drag the items, they stack on top of each other and they can't see what they have already put in the category. Has anyone else experienced this that you know of? The amount of drag objects does not change it for me. I don't see any settings that could apply, so it may be something I have to contact support for.

Try emailing captivatehelp@adobe.com for technical support. If nothing else you may have uncovered a problem with the software that Adobe should fix.

@@CaptivateTeacher I ended up making a custom image and added text to the image itself and this worked, so it may be a bug with using text sometimes.

Hi Paul, how do you get the images to appear once you drag them over? When I do this it turns blank. Also, do you have any videos on adding audio to this? For example they would click on the option and listen then drag it to the appropriate box. Thanks so much!

Hi Paul. I've been using your tutorials, and they've been extremely helpful. I'm hoping you might have some insight on this: I'm interested in tracking students' attempts to answer these questions to better understand their learning process (it's for my dissertation research). Is this kind of data tracking possible with the current Captivate version? I'm using Captivate to create SCORM packages I'm hosting in Moodle. I've set up drag-and-drop questions with the "unlimited attempts" option, but I'm finding that Moodle's interaction data only records the final, correct response. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated :)
@CaptivateTeacher24 күн бұрын
Your Moodle should track the number of attempts but it would be the number of attempts to complete the entire quiz. Attempts of a single question slide isn't something that your LMS would track as part of the quiz data.

Hi Paul, thank you for sharing your insights. Do you know if drag-and-drop is accessible in Captivate 12 or do we still need to do workarounds?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
+Petr Kosina drag and drop will never be accessible as it requires the learners to use a mouse. Mice are not accessible compliant.

Hello Paul! Thank you for all of your videos! For Adobe Captivate 12, can you create a video demonstrating how to publish the content in a SCROM file?

I'm always happy to point you in the right direction regarding questions about Adobe Captivate. You can purchase a one-hour one-on-one session with me at bit.ly/Cp1on1 if you need more than a simple question answered. If you only use some of that time, that's okay. You can bank any unused time (15-minute increments) for future sessions. For example, if you use 30 minutes, you can use 30 minutes later.

I very much appreciate this video. I've been playing around with the drag and drop feature as it has been a major feature of several courses I've built. What is hugely disappointing is that the drag objects and drop targets are limited to 6. This will keep me working in CpC, until updates allow more flexibility there. Also, as a designer, I have felt creatively confined by the lack of flexibility to be able to design freely. Two shapes for targets, and you can't even resize the circle to be an oval, or the rectangle to portrait or a square. Not going to lie, I found myself uttering a few swear words testing the limits of drag and drop in Cp.

@@CaptivateTeacher I'm tempted by some of the new features in All New Captivate, such as drop down menus, tabs, flip cards, carousels, and timelines, but the lack of so many other features that are in Classic which I depend on, prevents me from doing most of my projects in All New Captivate.

Before my vacation I completed my first project for a client. I couldn't have produced the same project with 2019 release. I know Adobe plans new features to version 12 each quarter so I think we will get there and it won't take five plus years.
