Since nobody has mentioned it yet, let me be the security nerd: you should replace every helmet after 5 years of use or 7 years after it was made, at the latest. The Styrofoam/EPS liner material that is responsible for absorbing any crash impacts, dries out over time and becomes brittle, loosing its absorption properties. I'd rather spend a little less on a helmet (you can get SNELL certified helmets for $150) but replace them every 3 years or so.
@ducatinyc5 жыл бұрын
Yep yep, exactly. Both of my other helmets were made in 2014/2015 - so sadly its time to retire them. I dont mind spending a bit more on a helmet since its a crown jewel of any motorcycle experience and that new helmet feels are unparalleled. Like this AGV. Going forward I'll wait less than 5-6 years to switch tho. Not sure about 3, but 4 sounds about right.

Dang - that is one nice cranium container! I'm currently an Arai user, but have been looking at other helmets companies. I didn't know that Rossi was part owner of AGV - not just an awe inspiring rider, but a business savvy fellow as well! I have always struggled with what to do with old helmets - I am not aware of any type of recycling program, but given all the materials, I would think they would be good for recycling. Enjoy breaking in the new AGV and thanks for sharing! EW :)

Hmmmm, I don't want to give you wrong advice about sizing. I always wear Large in Shoei and I got a L in AGV, so I would go with L. However my AGV broke after only little over 2 years. The safety foam cracked in half eventhough I never dropped or damaged the helmet. Their warranty is ONLY 1 year and they refused to replace it - so I'm back with the brand I trust - and got a Shoei RF1400 a few weeks ago to replace the now broken AGV. Real shame. Makes me sad.
